@Blaze A colleague of mine had the M8. Man, what a great device! It had awesome cameras for that time and could even record videos in slow motion. Nowadays, I take this feature for granted for the last 3 phones I had, but at that time this just seemed revolutionary!

@kcarruthers Pretty much Russia. They also came to help store our treasury there when the tide of WW1 turned against us. And they protected it even from us ever since, to this day.

@GadgeteerZA it's not really that new, it's been around for as long as Mastodon got the first boost back in Autumn 2022 (at least that's when I first heard about it, something like that). There's plenty of other microblogging servers out there, as microblogging is overwhelmingly served via AP and not only. There's even a Nextcloud app for that.

@Blaze I'm not buying phones that often, but I recently changed to a Nokia G22 (yes, they also have phones with jack), and one of the things that made me decide on that was the jack as well. I got a pair of wireless headsets from work and I can say they're pretty good, but I am still not over the thought that I have one more thing to charge its battery every once in a while. Wired headphones are pretty much okay and I don't see any problem with them that would make me switch (at least right now).

Edit: I almost forgot. I also listen to the (FM) Radio, so I need the wired headsets to be used as an antenna.

@Blaze It is larger than I thought, indeed 😁 but I see they still tend to stick with stock Android even though they're not really releasing any android one phones any longer.

@BearOfaTime That's odd. My experience with micro USB cables is actually the poorer one. Cables would have their pins worn down all the time and become loose. My current phone has USB C and I had no problem so far. I use the same cable since I purchased it.

toilet, to random

This is what you find on a #German #Highway, or #Autobahn, serviced toilet that you pay 1€ (about $1 US) to use. Not sure why people don't flush or if something was wrong with the toilet plumbing.

In the cabin next to that there was a toilet with some splatter on the seat and plumbing with what I beliefe was shit.
