Are there any #networking types out there that can offer me an answer to an issue I'm having?

My Mac wouldn't upload to websites using either Safari or Firefox. Tried searching for an answer, but nothing came up, so I posted on /r/macOS.

A reply I got there suggested manually changing the MTU rate in network settings to 1280, and that if that worked then something is up with our network.

Well, it worked.

Quick question for anyone using Stripe to take payments online: are pay-outs sent as domestic transactions, i.e. wired to you from an instance of Stripe based in your own country of operations, or are they wired to you as a payment from overseas?

(Would appreciate some signal-boost on this query, because Stripe's FAQ is super opaque, and it turns out that their email-based customer service systems have been almost entirely turned over to LLMs... )

EDIT: thankfully I secured one of the last seats on the X2000 to Stockholm an hour later. Phew. At least SJ's rebooking system is neat.

@sebwilken @jon @nordkommission According to their webpages, checkin for cyclists is together with cars and motorcycles. So maybe worth checking with their customer service whether you can just cycle down the ramp (high-viz vest required)?

@jon @sebwilken @nordkommission It seemed to me there is no price difference so you might still be able to add it; or social engineer the onboard staff to let you off like that if it’t the standard procedure for cyclists anyway. Have your cake and eat it (i.e. be a cyclist and foot passenger at the same time), when can you do that? 😂😇

23 pages of manure (literally, sometimes. I hate manure) that is the extreme-right Dutch Agreement can contain interesting stuff nevertheless. For #crossborderrail there's two sentences (both on page 9):

  1. 'In the border regions, good rail connections with the neighboring country are essential.'
  2. ´There will be a proposal for cross-border rail transport, including the connection of five train stations to international HSL lines (e.g. Hengelo, Venlo, Heerlen, Groningen and Zwolle).' (1/3).

The devil is in the details - which are of course still buried deep in said manure and may never surface. The first point does point towards some pressure (NSC probably) towards improving #crossborderrail in Twente and Brabant. More pressure for electrifying Enschede-Gronau (real problem in .de though)? Better connectivity in Groningen? Hammont-Weert finally? (2/3)..
