I need to know the scientific name for the small body of air captured under the covers while you sleep. That lovely, warm air probably contains all sorts of interesting molecules you generate or sweat or exude while you're in bed.

For the methods section of a grant (potentially); "we will use a Gilian 800i remote air sampling device drawing air through 4 feet of 3 mil silicone tubing and a MilliporeSigma™ Supelco™
54278U SPE solid phase column. Samples of {INSERT THIS TERM HERE} will be drawn at intervals of two hours with column replacement between each sample."

Because I want to know what molecules exactly my lovely partner/wife/whoever you sleep with is filling that space with so that they are so snuggly first thing in the morning.

A little knowledge is a terrible thing.

Subject: Re: Scientific Reports: Decision on “Trajectory Modeling of Cannabis Use over 30 Years Identifies Five Unique Longitudinal Patterns”

We are delighted to let you know that the above submission, which you co-authored, has been accepted for publication in (Nature) Scientific Reports.

I still can't show you the five trajectories but I will be able to sooner rather than later! :)

Two quick things and I'll leave you alone;

  1. There is no position that a human can achieve through stretching, yoga or any other physical pursuit that makes it possible for you to clean the inside of the windshield of your car well and comfortably.

  2. Your pasta fork is the best back scratcher ever invented.

Thanks for your time.

My daughter brought home her stuff from college, yes, that's her being eaten by seagulls and the texture is sewn on beads. It's 5 feet tall, where can I possibly hang it

A poem written by my daughter is shown, it's kind of long to type out

Does anyone else use the "smash them in their skin" approach to preparing their garlic cloves?
I remove the cloves, cut off the hard part, smash them with a knife and then slide the skin off. I used to do the "moist hands, rub the cloves together as hard as you can" method but I like this approach better.

A few springtime views of our back yard, 22 years of work are represented. My lovely wife does the pruning and most of the weeding and I built the infrastructure, pavers, patio stones, arbor and all that. It's spring in Denver but too early for the masses of blooms that are coming!

[Edit] Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L so the yard isn't actually that big, it's the lens.

A grape arbor is shown in the corner of the back of a house, paving stones cover the ground and red chai cushions appear ready to accept guests butts
A garden is shown abutting a lawn, it's spring but not yet flowering and the garden is in shade

Predatory journal say what?

"We have genuinely emailed you quite a lot of times but received no response, so we'd like to try once more as courtesy.

The most recent issue (New Edition) is missing one article. Could you please aid us by putting forward an article to this edition of the Journal of Gynecological Research and Obstetrics (ISSN: 2581-5288) before March 31, 2024?

Please send in a research paper, review paper, mini-review, or case study. We believe that a two-page paper will not be too time-consuming for someone of your calibre if you have short notice.

We are confident that you will always be available to help us.

Our Sincere Request: Please acknowledge this invitation within 24 hours."

Anybody know whether this guy is acting rabid or not? It's 72 degrees out, he's in the shade clutching the wall breathing really rapidly and he doesn't appear scared of me.

If you enjoyed Kill Bill and other films or then you may enjoy

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt14846026/

It was a blast I have to say, nothing realistic about it and the protagonist apparently can't be killed but it's hyperbolic violence becomes comedic pretty early on and carries the show nicely.

If you like that sort of a bloody mess of course!

Okay fine, I don't NEED an EF 180mm 1:3.5 L but it does take pretty pictures of tiny flowers!

Apparently there's an ant war going on in my yard! 3mm or so in size there are clearly two types of ants going at it, I thought it was one group gathering food but nope, that's a war! Also that's what a Canon 180mm L macro lens can do in terms of depth, I can follow one tiny ant as it runs about using the focal ring only. The pic on the bottom has the two ants fighting but it's focused a couple of millimeters past them, the one on top brings them into focus.

Two tiny ants are fighting but out of focus, in the background are dead ant bodies!!
