As some of you know, I’m not vegan but I am continually trying vegan stuff because I have lots of friends I want to feed (and also going meat lite)

I’ve also found I vastly prefer the East Asian alt foods over the science-y burger-y ones (tho I do also love the Impossible nuggets)

This stuff is much closer to how I eat anyway

@skinnylatte Yes, the fake meats are everywhere at the moment, mainly in burger form.
Nothing wrong with fake meat per se, just the over abundance of it diminishes any other dishes.

Of course, being an older vegan I can remember when you were offered either a plain salad or … a plain baked potato….

@skinnylatte oh yes, being able to veganise albóndigas, or change some rice dishes really helps the transition - especially when they’re foods from childhood or family recipes!

    Kind of their own fault, though.

    European makers chose to make China the workshop of the world, now it’s coming back to bite them in the bottom (line).

    Once they hit Europe all benefit from them being cheaper to purchase no longer exists.

    The Ora is a good car but in the uk was over £30,000, so supply line is ‘cheaper’ but benefits at consumer end … aren’t.

    I think we’re probably in broad agreed but coming at it from different angles?

    Most of us could have said that, lol. There’s a reason they didn’t go ‘up the middle of the country & only to Birmingham’ with the other railways.

    It would’ve been better to have upgraded the original lines & Trans Penines routes, reopened some of the Beeching branch lines ( thus creating extra capacity ).

    Instead, it’s a mishmash of destruction:

    Of ancient woodland, SSI & AONB

    Chalk stream water sources

    Graves & plague pits.

    The ‘money issue’

    Etc.,
