Der Wahl-O-Mat für die #Europawahl ist da - und mit ihm kommt eine frische 'Erklärung zur #Barrierefreiheit', in der die @bpb erklärt, das Tool sei nun vollständig konform mit den gesetzlichen Anforderungen.

Aber ist das wirklich so?

Schon mit den ersten beiden Klicks wird dort die Nichtkonformität zu den Punkten 9.5 Nr. 16 und 20 der EN 301 549 sichtbar. Beide stellen für einige seh- und motorisch behinderte Menschen erhebliche Barrieren dar.

Ich erkläre gerade die EN 301 549 einem bekannten eShopping-Infrastruktur-Anbieter und mir fällt mal wieder auf, wie unglücklich die Teile außerhalb des Kapitels 9 (WCAG) sind: Formuliert, aber nicht erklärt, weil kein Geld seitens der EU-Kommission allokiert. Man kann die Absicht der dortigen Vorgaben interpretieren, hat aber keine "Understanding"-Docs. Das ist - freundlich ausgedrückt - suboptimal. Nicht falsch verstehen: Es finden sich dort wichtige Regelungen! Aber halt annäherend unerklärt

Mein Einsamkeitsgefühl in der Accessibility-Branche hat sich in den letzten Wochen leider extrem verstärkt. Ich fühle mich weder als Teil der "Community", noch dass das, was ich mache, besonders willkommen wäre. Ich sehe mich als Behinderte überhaupt nicht repräsentiert (Das muss man als Branche erstmal schaffen, wenn man sich Behinderten verschreibt) und irgendwie scheinen auch alle ständig mit sich selbst beschäftigt zu sein, statt tatsächlich mal irgendwas voranzubringen. #Inklusion

Die Anzeigetafeln der DB InfraGO sind nicht besonders barrierefrei. Aber halt digital. Muss wohl reichen.

One does not need to be an #a11y expert to conduct audits and to do testing, but somehow almost everyone who has a name in the industry primarily does that. And don't tell me that it is what the market asks for. It is what the market offers as the default way of doing accessibility.

Real accessibility experts can do so much more, and so much better work.
