Just listening to the “iPadOS 17 Wishes” @appstories episode and must say that @viticci’s suggestion for Spotlight extensions would make me so happy 🥹

Maybe as be part of #Shortcuts / #AppIntents without even (much) extra work to be done by devs? Essentially “just” expose intents in Spotlight with a more interactive UI, allowing to directly type in parameters (Raycast-style) and other kinds of rich interactions without leaving #Spotlight? 🤔

Good news everyone! simctl status_bar overrides are working again with Xcode 15 🥳

Just last week, I tediously did the whole, ridiculous “setting my Mac's system time to 9:41am and then frantically trying to take as many screenshots as possible in a minute" thing again when simctl would've done the trick 🫠

Finally, after many weeks of diving deep into CoreData + CloudKit and dealing with sync bugs and weird edge cases, iCloud Sync for Zenitizer is ready to ship this Wednesday 🥳

Real Talk. The most powerful design tool I use on a regular basis is the .border(.red) modifier in SwiftUI. The ability to quickly examine a view's bounds IN CONTEXT has always been super useful to diagnose weird layout bugs, fix alignment and correct visual spacing.

The same calendar widget is shown but this time every view in it has its views visible by wrapping it in a colored border.

@donnywals Submitted my screenshot redesign for @zenitizer that I worked on with https://www.picassoapp.ca/ last week as an App Store A/B test.

It’s the first complete redesign since launching the app a year ago so I’m excited to see if it improves conversion 😁

Either way the process was really fun with Picasso 👨‍🎨

@alexkaessner I think my overall theme was “more friendly and inviting, less technical” if that makes sense? More organic and dynamic arrangement of device frames (like you said), but also the dimmed nature scene in the background and some visual emphasis on the soundscapes.

Also semantically it makes more sense in my mind now. Not using the same layout allowed me to group things conceptually where it makes sense. (1/3)

E.g. Screenshot No. 2 shows the “advanced timer settings” as well as the “routines” screen, both of which are features realted to “timer customization and personalization”. Similar thing with the statistics and meditation history view - both related to “history” in a way and semantically fit well together. (2/3)

@thillsman @kyle Haha, you know, as a total geek adding numerous AppIntents to @zenitizer v1.0 was one of those decisions I always thought I’d mostly do “for my own inner nerd” without making much business sense…

But then Interactive Widgets came along, followed by the Action Button and now this 🥳

The work on AppIntents already paid off big time in terms of allowing to adopt new stuff and providing lots of value in different ways 🤓

After finally giving @obsidian a try and quickly coming to the conclusion that it is incredibly well suited for the way I like to document and organize my thoughts, I have been trying to make it feel more “at home” on macOS and was happy that one of the first search results pointed me to a wonderful article by @konstantin who documented the steps he took to achieve exactly that 🤓
