For me, social media is not very attractive, I would be happy to follow my favourite artists and some institutions via RSS. But the negative impact on society, democracy and many people, as well as how many have become dependent on them, made me want to do something: I founded this instance to promote a better alternative.

I am a pianist, composer and student writing a thesis in CorpusLinguistics, work with Moodle at UniGraz and on improving WordPress ActivityPub thanks to NGI Zero.

@polygraz Mobilizon, also die Software hinter events.graz.social, ist da ein bisschen speziell, das hat auch gute Gründe. Jedenfalls kann man dort Gruppen folgen und Profilen nicht. Ein Account kann beliebig viele Profile machen. Mastodon bringt den Vorteil, dass man mit dem selben Account auch folgen kann und ggf. den Content anderer auch boosten kann. Auf events.graz.social kann man ja auch Beiträge als Gruppe erstellen.

@GeschichteFM Danke für diese Folge, da ich selber Organist und Pianist bin und viel Bach spiele, war ich natürlich besonders interessiert. Eurer Blickwinkel auf dessen Leben fand ich besonders reizvoll!

@GeschichteFM Eine kleine Anmerkung: ich meinte mal gelesen zu haben, dass Bach sich für seine Lübeck-Reise einen Monat freistellen ließ, aber allein die Anreise dauerte schon so lange. Vielleicht sogar noch mutiger, als einfach so zu verschwinden. Ob er Buxtehude dort traf ist anscheinend auch nicht belegt, aber das bezweifel ich nicht! :)

Noch bemerkenswert: er hat einfach darauf vertraut, dass seine Familie weiterhin irgendwie versorgt würde und nicht aus der Wohnung flog.

@dedalusroot Multilingual content management will come is on the roadmap of the WordPress core. Until then I will be using a plugin for my sites.

When indicating on a website that you can follow via ActivityPub/the Fediverse, I think we should converge on a common icon.

Problem: Until the software evolves, people might use multiple fediverse platforms at the same time to cover all their needs, e.g. PeerTube and Mastodon.

Rode my hills today for the first time in a very long time. It was fabulous 😊. I had a disappointment this week, though not the bad kind, more the kind that just shows me something I really really want. & this ride was just the medicine I needed to process it a bit. #BikeToooter

Something similar is already happening with discount cards and discount prices at #OEBB and other train companies. Without sharing data one can not purchase the cheap tickets.

Kennt ihr ein #CMS, das #selfhosted auf dem eigenen Server betrieben werden kann aber auch nahtlos mit dem #fediverse verknüpft ist?

Man veröffentlicht/bloggt in dem CMS hat auch einen RSS-Feed und zusätzlich existiert auch hier alles und man kann mit den Inhalten interagieren.

Inhalt soll ich Textfiles gespeichert werden.

@lukas Das kommt drauf an, was du dir vom CMS erwatest. Und Fediverse Anbindung ist vage, es gibt ein breites Spektrum, wie ausgeprägt die Interoperabilität mit bekannten Plattformen sein kann.

Am 8.7. wird bekannt, dass der Bruder eines FPÖ-Politikers die Droge Crystal Meth produzierte. (1) Der Beschuldigte war selbst Parteimitglied und Kopf einer Burschenschaft. (2)

Nun zur Berichterstattung: Die Gratisblätter "Der Grazer (9.7. und 16.7.) und "Woche Graz" (12.7. und 19.7.) berichteten darüber: Nichts.

Das ist witzig. Gerade habe ich (per Automatik) einen Blogartikel veröffentlicht, den man per "@chris" auch im Fediverse abonnieren kann. Dabei stelle ich fest, dass dieses Abo auf #Mastodon nur aus dem Link zum Artikel und den darin enthaltenen Bildern besteht, während hier auf #Calckey der komplette Artikel mit allen Bildern (diese jedoch gesammelt am Ende) veröffentlicht wird.

Schade, denn irgendwie ist beides nicht sonderlich sinnvoll. Das eine zu wenig, das andere zu viel. Schön wäre es meiner Ansicht nach, wenn der Titel, der Einleitungstext (der ist ja in Wordpress, was hier die Quelle ist, immer separat erfasst) und der Link zum Artikel veröffentlicht würde, evtl. noch mit dem Beitragsbild. Das wäre sicher einerseits übersichtlicher, und der Leser hätte einen kurzen Einstieg in das Thema und könnte dann entscheiden, ob er den Link anklicken will oder nicht.

@juengling @chris Das kannst du ja mit der aktuellen Version bereits kontrollieren. Dass einfach nur das Excerpt als "Note" veröffentlicht wird.

Aber es wird noch besser in Zukunft. Summaries sind auch Teil von ActivityPub. Also der ganze Artikel wird zwar versendet, aber die Summary eben auch getrennt. Die Software die empfängt kann dann entsrechend damit umgehen.
