If it feels like it’s the end of the world, don’t despair! Come see incredible post-apocalyptic artwork with your friends on May 31st from 5-7 pm at No. 7 Center Gallery in Vermillion, South Dakota for the opening reception of the Thunderdomesticity: The F-Word exhibition. While dressing up is not required, I will peer-pressure you into putting together a post-apocalyptic outfit because this is the 3rd annual Thunderdomesticity Party!

I can’t believe it! I’m going to receive a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant! Eek!

Lee Krasner was an incredible artist, and her mission was to advance the work of other visual artists. The Pollock-Krasner Foundation has provided $89 million to support to more than 5,100 artists from 80 countries, and I’m one of them!

I recently did an interview with Bold Journey, and I was happy to highlight many of the amazing people and organizations I’ve been able to work with as an artist! I’m thankful to be a Rural Regenerator Fellow, part of the Miss Art World Family, plus curate exhibitions at No. 7 Center Gallery. There are photos of my artwork plus shenanigans in my interview title “Meet Klaire Lockheart” by Michael Alvarez.

Should I have posted this painting detail yesterday? Oops! Here’s a close-up of one of my brodalisque paintings currently at Chloe Gallery.

Klaire Lockheart, Old Fashioned Man Cave. 2023. Oil on Canvas. 24x40”.

An oil painting depicts a masculine model in a man cave filled with sci-fi decor, beverages, and snacks; the dude wears a rubber ducky shirt, a backwards cap, and he is leaning on his elbows while he balances on his left hip with his front side turned toward the back wall.

What’s the farthest you’ve traveled for an art exhibition? We just got back from San Francisco, and that was a long drive!

I had a wonderful time at the opening reception for Women in Art: Great Artists Who Just Happen to be Women 2024! The exhibition is up through April 10 at Chloe Gallery, 434 Post St, San Francisco by appointment.

A vertical poster includes black text that reads, “Women in Art: Great Artists Who Just Happen to be Women 2024,” and “March 10-April 10, 2024,” below a painting of two young women and a slice of watermelon.
