@aud the CPU longs to sleep the dreamless sleep of rocks once again, the etchings are a cursed rune tattooed onto its soul, constantly itching with the hum of electrons
It's so weird that we are all supposed to be ashamed for burping and farting. I deeply apologize to everyone for keeping my body from literally exploding, so uncouth.
Gruber musing on how maybe the iPad isn't "limited software out of place on such good hardware," it's "good software with unexpectedly awesome hardware" instead is sure something.
Wandered into a dead looking mall in K-town and found.. an exceptional Korean market (California market), a really good Korean porridge shop (Bonjuk), a traditional Korean tea house open until 10pm (Ye Cafe)
Nice places to sit and lie down for free on the roof
@skinnylatte LA is really the only other place beside Chicago that I could see myself living, and it's 70% about the food. All my work friends that live in LA hate it, they look at me like I'm nuts when I tell them I love their city. They all want to move to SF. There's nothing to eat in SF.
@skinnylatte Yeah, whenever I'm in the Bay Area, it's for some work stuff; meals are usually pre-planned by some corporate travel person and I don't get to find my own food a lot. I should visit some time on my own initiative, but I'd rather go back to LA and eat more of their donuts.
@nyquildotorg Ugh, we started getting ads for that around the holiday times and I had to make sure to put the alert out to the family to never buy me anything like that, it will make me sad
I'm on team "there doesn't need to be a display of thumbnail, title and summary for posted links," but also on team "the thumbnail title and summaries change a lot anyway, meaning Mastodon is already serving up inaccurate info, so maybe it wouldn't be the end of the world misinformation-wise to federate them from the person who posted the link "
One of the saddest things about leaving Singapore for the U.S. is, not only does McDonalds suck they also don’t have curry sauce. Which makes it impossible for me to eat nuggets
@skinnylatte This reminds me of rural Subway vs urban Subway. At least here in the Midwest US, if you find a Subway in the middle of nowhere, it’s probably pretty decent. You don’t eat at Subway anywhere that might be big enough to have public transit, though; in the cities they’re basically dumpsters with bread.
