If you wanted to explain to a 10 year old how a button or switch can change between two things, like AM or FM on a radio, but didn't want to use a radio because it may be outdated... what example might you use?

I have a DC motor and a sensor. I want to have the DC motor stop on a high signal from the sensor. Easy with a microcontroller, but I am wondering if I can do it without one. I tried with some NPN transistors (2N3904), but I could not figure it out.

Anyone have any good suggestions?

12 Volt or less.

I considered asking to please be more careful what you share, but ended just saying "Did you read the findings of the study? It's insignificant" and linking to a great video by @rebeccawatson explaining it

I am working on a game, a space shooter. I am programming and such. It is primary a hobby project. No money involved. I want to involve other in it, especially find someone to do graphics (2d tiles with animations (could probably also be rendered from 3d graphics), and some still images for cutscenes), and someone to make some music and/or sfx. My code is now at a point where I am hoping to other hobbiests that would be interested in making the in-game graphics and sound effects.
