Love* how Facebook just sends out random notifications to read Pauline Hanson’s nonsense. Good and normal.

anyone making this argument is 100% missing the point of why apple's ad sucked - it wasn't about the physical items getting destroyed, it was the metaphor of the world's biggest company compressing all the creative, human, cherished things into a boring, soulless computer that it controls and owns and makes all the money on

also eSIMs are a mistake for your primary phone number - making your phone number beholden to an app?? bad idea, good for burner/travel numbers though

decryption,

passkeys fall into the same trap as eSIMs - yes in theory they're good but the companies involved make it more painful than it needs to be

saw a sticker on the back of a CD that had the price on it - this came out in 1997, making the $28 back then equivalent to over $56 now! no way I'd pay $56 for an album in 2024

Home theatre needs some new speakers and acoustic treatment - lots of harsh surfaces and the speakers are old, not suitable and basic in the first place. Might buy a calibration mic, take some measurements with REW, buy new speakers then do some more measurements and figure out how to flatten out the frequencies and get close to the Harman +6db low frequency target curve

fuck these copy controlled CDs - impossible to get an accurate rip out of them it seems :(
