Fairly lukewarm take: I hate phrases like “identify as”, “preferred pronouns”, and shit like “living your truth”. It comes off as super condescending and patronizing. You would never be like, “Jane got married last week. She identifies as Mrs. Surname now, she’s so brave for living her truth”
Previously in therapy I had mentioned believing I’m autistic and she was kind of like, “ehh I don’t know about that”. But today I brought up that I thought I may have been put on a weird no sugar diet as a child because they knew about my ADHD and without skipping a beat she says, “Oh yeah. Totally. That makes absolute sense. I agree”. So I’ll take that as an informal diagnosis lol
@danirabbit Ok, sorry. I really had no idea about her qualifications. It just sounded like she was clueless but it sounds more like a lack of training for a particular subject.
Haha I went out for early dinner and I ran into some friends and one of the guys I haven’t seen in like 3 or 4 years and he was like “Who’s this?” 😂 and we were all laughing super hard. I reintroduced myself. He was like “Have we met?”
