Like: how do you even insert an LTR piece of text in an LTR code base?

Pasting the following string (however that renders online!) twice produces the most unexpected results 🤔

This is the most over-architectured picture viewer I have seen. And it still takes 400ms to show a photo.

Today marks 10 years of Swift.

I was in love at first sight. Swift changed my life.

Things I struggled with for years became easy. Things that were impossible became doable.

I’m looking forward to the next ten years!

@lkanies @pixelscience @lehtimaeki Coming from Ruby as my love language, Swift was such a pleasant new language to learn!

Objective-C behaved more closely to Ruby, but Swift was actually nice to write.

@lucas Just tried to get stuff to run at all after @ricobeck's CocoaHeads talk recently. Noodled around with the C wrapper and planned a couple of changes, but haven't done anything custom, yet.

@lucas Since Swift.String is not part of the embedded runtime, are you creating a [CChar] wrapper for this? Was sketching something along those lines, happy not to work on this if you already do :D

From the recent Daring Fireball footnote mention of TableFlipApp.com I noticed a sales increase of ~$600 total.

The bummer is:

It's a 5:1 Mac App Store to direct sales ratio.

I did not expect so many people to purchase on the MAS!

@daviwil Thanks! It's not a ton of money, but appreciated, and the ratio is interesting. It seems that people do purchase on the App Store sight unseen (I wouldn't know why given that button is so small :)) instead of using the app and buying from inside it.

Maybe people aren't as happy to share their credit card info anymore?

Maybe the App Store purchase convenience is a factor?
