Lunch downtown with coworkers and I mention all of the “No turn on red” signs at all the intersections. Guy with me says he knows all about the signs, pedestrian injuries, the state vs city stuff, etc because he follows @IndyPedCrisis (on Twitter but I’m not judgin’). I said, “I don’t want to brag but I know @NefariousAryq!”

Yeah, not having the drive home to crank up the radio and belt out before getting home…that’s definitely a thing. Luckily it is getting nice outside and I typically fine myself in better alignment after a walk outside.

Here's my obligatory blurry phone camera totality shot. I told myself after the last eclipse that I would not attempt to turn into an astrophotographer for this one, even though I was in 100% totality for >3 minutes. I kept to that and I didn't drag out the "good" cameras or buy/make filters. I snapped a couple pics on my phone and a took a short video and spent most of the time just observing. Was very cool (literally and figuratively)!

Absolutely loved "Project Hail Mary." I was hooked right from the beginning. One of the rare books where I'm actually interested in both the main story and the flashbacks. Highly recommend.

I just read an article that I was sure would make me feel bad.

It was about how you probably threw out CDs worth lots of money now.

Luckily, I bought all of the CDs I donated to Goodwill from Columbia House, so I didn't have any special ones!

I was a big fan of Woolly @woollyapp and it allowed you to “pin” a hashtag-driven timeline to the bottom nav along with your Local and Home buttons. I loved & miss that. It would still be my primary app but it seems like it has been abandoned. This would be a clutch feature for me and I would take another look at Mona.

  1. Does Hoosier.social federate with Threads?

  2. Does Hoosier.social have any plans for federating with future proprietary services in the Fediverse (like maybe BlueSky someday)?

  3. Do you federate with Mastodon.social? Your “About” page makes me think you might not.

My wife, @thekitmalone has been on a kitchen science experiment kick that involves perfecting bread and muffin recipes and let me tell you how I am just suffering (to fit in my pants).

So then she started making whole grain muffins because—MY PANTS.

Mighty Hunter, pictured here subduing a corncob, had a live sparrow in the house today. We don’t know if he snuck out, caught it, and snuck back in, or if the sparrow got in somehow. Anyhow, it took a major team effort to get the bird back outside, but it eventually flew off, apparently OK. Didn’t get a photo of the event, so just imagine that the corn is a sparrow.
