Einem Gerät, dessen Eingangsbuchse gern 7.5 VDC hätte, lag ein Netzteil bei, das mit 6 V beschriftet ist und aus dem 10 V rauskommen.

Okay, , ich brauch mal nen Labeldrucker.

Anforderungen:

  1. Eigene Tastatur/Display, mit der ich ohne weitere Geräte Standardlabels drucken kann.
  2. Kann per USB angesprochen werden, um Standardlabel oder Bitmaps von Linux zu drucken (CLI tooling oder einfach nur ein USB-Serial-Socket + Protokollspezifikation würd mir reichen).
  3. Kein DRM auf Tapes und keine Anzeichen vom Hersteller, so was einführen zu wollen.

Wegen 3 seh ich nur Brother, dort aber nix, was 1 und 2 kann. Gibts da noch andere?

@n Sieht echt fein aus ... abgesehen vom Preis (industrial ruggedized ist eigentlich nicht in meinen Anforderungen ^^)
Aber die Option auf Schrumpfschlauchdruck ist ja auch echt nich zu verachten...

TIL dass Pizza-Mampf aus Spaceballs (1987) im englischsprachigen Original Pizza the Hutt heißt, und Colonel Sandfurz heißt Sandurz (gesprochen wie Sanders, der Gründer von KFC).

In der Szene, in der Lord Helmchen ihn fragt "Haben Sie Schiss?" ist es im Englischen dann eben auch "What's the matter, Colonel Sandurz? Chicken?"

I really do love the rich features and UX of on Android, a video player app.

However, with the latest updates, it gets more and more tedious to use it without network permission (I don't use and want). Reason: when starting the app, it either does nothing until a timeout of ~1min is reached or it never passes the startup screen. So far, I still can "open" it when opening any video file from my file browser.

Is there a decent alternative video player for Android I should consider?

@D22 @publicvoit I just checked: yes, it can do all of the listed things. Though the "continue playing audio in background" probably is not enabled by default in favor of having a picture-in-picture mode that stops when locking screen.

Am Institut hat ein Kollege in seinem Büro ein random Zertifikat als Deko aufgestellt.
So ein Ding, das Kinder bekommen, wenn sie nach einer Führung durch eine Sennerei ein oder zwei Fragen beantworten können. Und er hat das halt - as you do - auch haben wollen 😁
Damit hat er jetzt einen Trend losgetreten, und ich überlege, was ich wohl #amLand noch für komische Urkunden herumfliegen habe.

I raise my glass with you on Tom Scott. And another one on you, Matt Gray. You both have been an integral part of my video consumption in the last decade. To the point where I somehow feel I know your public face without you knowing anything about me. (Which made it a bit awkward for me when I met you at camp, not knowing where to start talking.
