Did the event despite not knowing anything about 16. I dressed up in my best dark knight outfit to match. Clive didn't impress me with his personality, but the gameplay in the trial was pretty fun! Helps that the dodge timing was pretty forgiving. I don't love the outfit, I'm sure I'll find a use for pieces of it. But the action the dogge mount does is so cute it's all worthwhile!

Is going to be the first video game I buy 3 times? I guess so!! lol

Already hyped about new music in the trailer. unpopular opinion time, but I'm a bit apprehensive of it becoming too Persona-y with more human characters. I'm hoping for something like Nocturne w/ bonus dungeons throughout, but I'm also getting SMTIV vibes - although I haven't played it I understand Apocalypse was a sort of alternate reality to the main story rather than an addition.

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds It was the fact that the trailer focused so much on what I assume are new plot elements that had me a bit worried. Also the idea of spending more time in high school right now after just finishing P5R is painful lol

I don't have any other consoles so it will be Switch again for me. I suppose I could go windows but I don't have a very comfortable setup for PC gaming, maybe that will change by the time this comes out.

@mrpablington You need to get a high enough rating in the FATE, so perhaps you aren't doing enough damage. I'm not sure how exactly it calculates your contribution but I showed up late to one other people were already working on and we cleared the FATE successfully but it didn't complete the quest for me so I assume that's what happened.

I use a piece of software called GHelper on my Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 laptop to manage BIOS settings in a GUI and it's so much better than the stock Asus bloatware. Seems like they are starting development of similar tools for the ROG Ally so some of you may be interested:

Just f*ck. I asked everyone to test. If they came anyway after saying they felt fine… I have no clue how I’ll handle the rage I feel.

You’d think I would have prepared myself for the low mask wearing ratios in AB compared to Van Isle… but wow, it floors me.

It’s like 1 in every 100 people here compared to a mostly masking community of say like… 3 out of every 5 ppl.

@britt downtown toronto has been increasing the past couple months, but it's still probably less than 40%. I'm sure if you mapped political leanings vs mask wearing rates you'd get a pretty close match - as well as population density.

I've played the first 4 hrs of Persona 5 Royal and it's really quite funny how different it is from SMTV despite both games coming from the same origin. There are like 3 human characters in all of SMTV and you spend most of the game running around desolate post-apocalyptic landscapes inhabited only by demons. The game tells you nearly nothing about strategy (although it is def more forgiving than prev games). Meanwhile most of P5 so far has been tutorial and cutscenes.

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds SMTV was my first SMT game so my Persona knowledge of demons helped, but you run into hama & mudo quite early and it actually hits, especially if you get ambushed, which really surprised me. I do think if you play enough JRPGs in general you'll figure out the optimal way to handle the push turn / weaknesses thing pretty easily, but you definitely don't get 3 hours of tutorial battles teaching you one battle mechanic at a time.

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds Yes, there's a lot of help info in the select menu as well. I think because I could blow through P4G Normal mode while kind of half-assing combat I underestimated SMTV at first. Once I turned my strategy brain on it was fine and by mid game Normal difficulty was a bit too easy. I know a lot of people for whom P4 was their first and only Persona game - or maybe have only watched the anime or a let's play - and P5 is definitely keeping those types of players in mind.

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds Yeah, actually the hardest part of P3P was all the plot cutoff points and how careful you have to be with your schedule to even come close to maxing out your relationships. Etrian Odyssey is my first and true Atlus love, so I actually played Persona Q before playing any actual Persona games at all. I'm kind of bouncing around the series, so far I've played P3P, P4G, SMT5, SMT1, & SMT3. I want to try the Devil Summoner and other spin offs too eventually.

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds I actually like the sparse stories of the mainline SMT games. It creates a feeling of loneliness and confusion and that even though you are the protagonist there are a lot of things happening around you that you aren't aware of. I definitely wish there was a bit more story, but it isn't a real downside for me.

Had a trip through Stone Vigil Hard with tank and healer sprouts - it took. A lot of dying. Definitely cemented it's position as least favourite dungeon after Aurum Vale. That 🤬 turtle. The sprouts were trying, but they were undergeared, didn't know basics like "use your defensive abilities", and I had to give a lot of advice that I hope was taken ok. 😞 It's not easy to write polite and considerate help very quickly while nobody is replying to you.
