LOL, garage sale bargain of the day. I had been thinking about finding a new Ikea desk lamp for a bedside table (very low priority), but hadn't figured anything out and Ikea is 50 miles away. Ran across someone at a garage sale and they had this Ikea lamp... which they sold to me for 25 cents. Even better than Ikea (secondhand, nearby Ikea stuff for basically nothing)! #garagesales

Electronics repair of the day. Air pump/inverter/USB charger/jump box. We use it a lot. Someone suggested it get tossed. I bought a new battery and it's back in business. #righttorepair #diy #repair

A new unit is $180 to $350 depending on who you buy it from (why the difference, I do not know). A new battery, bought locally (Batteries Plus) was pricey, at almost $70... but having been bitten by a large number of either counterfeit or fake batteries at Uncle Jeff's Online Emporium (Amazon), I have switched to local purchases until someone here can suggest a better alternative....

My assumption now is any battery bought from Amazon (sometimes, even from Amazon itself) is fake... with maybe exception of "Amazon Basic" batteries. After buying and weighing AA batteries ("Energizer" "Duracell" etc.) from a number of online outlets, and comparing them to the same brands bought at Lowe's, Home Depot, or Target... all the online ones are either fake or grey market crap... (maybe I was unlucky when I did that experiment, but....)

Conclusion: "ginger ale can filled with cheap beer chicken" is DELICIOUS! The beer evaporating from the can really does make the chicken moist. I don't know if adds much flavor (probably, any alcohol or soda would do). Maybe the best whole chicken I've made on the BBQ in awhile... #chicken #beer

Pretty sure the next door neighbor that hates us was having a "discussion" with one of the other neighbors about how much of a blight my almost-a-Little-Free-Library was on the neighborhood 😂

DIY stucco repair - repainted around the new sliding glass door. Will see how it looks as it ages, blended this into the existing stucco in hopes it will age better. #diy #stucco

If the Microsoft Windows 11 PC (which I am forced to use for client/work) is any proof, every Microsoft AI feature added to the OS is subtracting 15-20% of the productivity from your employees. 🙄

@deewani LOL... the work Microsoft Windows Machine is on about its 8th update reboot... just did a bunch of reboots (on Sunday, mind you, unattended and forced itself awake). Thing is so slow. Linux FTW!

@deewani The nice thing about Linux is you can load it on any old machine you get from the last 10 years or more to try. All my machines were dragged off the curb/out of recycling piles/free and loaded with Linux, because it takes so much less overhead than Windows. There's a slight learning curve, but not like it used to be.
