#android app removal help. Hi all. Wondering if anyone can advise how do you remove an unwanted app on android 13? someone with vision told me you have to drag the app to the top of the screen toward a trash icon. Seeing as this is not possible for those of us without vision, can anyone advise how it's done using talkback on android 13? Thanks so much.

accessibleandroid,
@accessibleandroid@mastodon.social avatar

@scottrut You can either find "Remove item" from the TalkBack actions or double tap and long press on an app that you want to remove and choose "Remove.".

@dhamlinmusic They posted an update in December saying that some bugs had been fixed. Worth another try.

accessibleandroid,
@accessibleandroid@mastodon.social avatar

@patricus This is so unfortunate. Sending them an email explaining your frustration may help them improve their voice. They seem to take feedback seriously.

accessibleandroid,
@accessibleandroid@mastodon.social avatar

@patricus We recently contacted them to let them know that their voices weren't performing well with TalkBack. And they said they would work on improving the overall experience.

@dhamlinmusic We have to get the message across to them that things are getting worse.

@simon This is the main reason why we decided to create Accessible Android. The majority of Android users come from the rest of the world where English is not their first language. Their voices need to be heard and we will be as loud as we can for them. We are here for the ignored majority, but really for all Android users, no matter where they live and what languages they speak. This was the very first attempt to get people's attention.

@WestphalDenn If you're referring to the German language, it comes pre-installed on both the Pixel and Samsung devices.

A relatively compact phone by today’s standards (coming in at 5.9-in), while still offering the performance of a flagship level device. A couple of other features that set it apart are the 3.5mm headphone jack and the fingerprint sensor in the power button rather than under the display.
