@JanneFantastic I saw Teen Wolf Too in the theater (on Thanksgiving Day nonetheless) with my family. We were the only people in the theater (not just our theater, but the entire multiplex).

I watched the first episode of The Acolyte. I’m not sure that this is true . They used safety devices like clips and harnesses! What’s next, railings on catwalks that span weirdly common abysses?

@rivetgeek @darjr I figured that at first they’re primarily going to work on video games or their VTT, but I also think that they’re going to align their tabletop games more and more their digital offerings, so yeah, they’ll merge…

Update on my dog that was attacked last nite - she's in good spirits this morning, and not bothering the stapled wound.

Had a long conversation with the animal control officer and there will be consequences to the owner of the aggressive dog, so there's that. Remains to be seen if he'll pay the medical bills voluntarily or if I'll need to take him to court. Just what I need in this new neighborhood. sigh

I'm struggling a lot more than I thought I would. Could not sleep. Very edgy today.

Our downtown has decided to add murals to the pedestrian street.

I love the idea.

It's interesting how the dominant title seems to change every so often.

A few years back, the default starter game was Lamentations of the Flame Princess, then it shifted to Old School Essentials, and now I get the impression that it's shifting to Dungeon Crawl Classics.

Not really sure why this happens... Lamentations had the Zak S thing but OSE haven't messed up and I don't get the impression that DCC has suddenly started doing noticeably better work.

@Taskerland I think OSE is still dominant in the retroclone space, and while DCC has plenty of fans, I’m not seeing a whole lot more of it. LotFP had more problems than Zak S. too, like their publisher - plus, I think edginess and grimdark are kind of out of fashion right now.

@Taskerland Yeah, but I feel the grimdark in the Borg-family of games is kind of tongue-in-cheek or satirical, at least in the good releases.

@kevin @Taskerland Yeah, I agree, it's more OSR-adjacent that OSR (so more of a proto-NSR), and don't get me wrong, DCC has plenty of fans and a great, very supportive community - I'm just not seeing it breaking outside those established communities.

A lot of people point nowadays to Shadowdark. To me, Shadowdark seems more like a simplified DCC with lots of influence from the OSR and 5e (at it's heart, DCC is clearly an off shoot of 3e).

Did NOT want to have to find out where the nearest animal hospital was, but our dog was attacked tonight by a loose neighborhood dog.

She's OK, only one cut that needed staples. Probably the equivalent of bruises and bumps.

Tons of praise for the folks at Galena Square Veterinary Clinic and Platteville Family Pet Hospital, very kind and caring and as well as talking me down from an adrenaline overload while I drove our pup to them.
