Afraid
People are afraid of many things.
The world ending,
Being berried alive,
Drowning,
Afraid of experienceing new events,
The dark,
Small spaces,
bugs,
Lots more.
A world of fear is not loving
From the day you were born
Reality shows you all the things that you are afraid of
And your parents contribute to the fear.
I have fear, lots of it, but I
Don't let it stop me. I try to conquer and face the fears I have, and love myself and others unconditionally.
Even though I'm afraid, I live with love and spread it around for all to see. For people who are constantly afraid, that's anxiety. And I'm here to tell you, your not alone. We're not alone. Its okay that your afraid, just know, that you don't need to let it stop you. If you live in fear, you won't get anywhere. So, I encourage you to step out, and see all the things your greatful for. Look beyond that fear, and do what you gotta do. If your afraid of saying hi to someone, say it. Be brave and do what your afraid of doing. If your afraid to go outside, start with baby steps. Open the door and breathe in the fresh air.

Having a negative opinion of AI is perfectly fine, but if you use that opinion as justification to call disabled designers, engineers, testers, etc. of image description tools based off of AI that they are ableist, I will set you straight extremely quickly. Folks'' ignorance and willingness to talk to disabled people as if we're deeply naive fools who need saving from the big bad AI machine that's taking advantage of us when our community was deeply involved in creating said AI machine has to be the height of entitlement, hubris, ignorance, and assumption.

If people around you make you feel like you can't be yourself, leave them. You deserve to be authentically you.
If people around you make you feel hurt, be that physically, emotionally, or any other way, leave them. You deserve to be happy.
If people around you make you feel unwelcome in their life, leave them. You deserve people who will support and welcome you into their world.
If people around you make you feel invalid, leave them. You deserve to feel valid no matter who you are or how you identify.
If people around you aren't letting you grow, change, or heal, leave them. You deserve to move forward.
Whoever you are, you deserve good things. You deserve better. You deserve supportive, loving people. You deserve acceptance. You deserve happiness. You are valuable. You're worth it. You're amazing, just the way you are. Your authentic, true self is wonderful and unique, and don't let anyone in this world tell you otherwise. Please be safe and take care of yourselves

Kaliah, to random

A reminder: nobody is invalid. Only you know your own experiences. If a person says they experience something or have a certain identity/use a certain label/ETC, it's not your place to judge. Let them live their life. If you can't validate and support someone? Don't talk to them at all. Your contribution is not helpful or useful to them. Just let other people be. They know their experiences better than you ever will, and there's nothing in the world you can do to change that. Whoever you are reading this, however you identify, whatever beliefs you follow, whatever labels you use, whoever you are as an individual, you are so, so valid. Don't let yourself doubt that.

I put some ice cubes in a glass, then leaned over it, listening. Right away I could hear them melting; a light but steady sizzle.
Only then did I add in water, and could hear the change right away, even over the clinking of the cubes against each other and the glass as they settled down. A much louder sizzle this time, a whistle, occasional pops of air. Some of those pops were so loud I could hear them clearly even after I bac stepped away from the glass.
It's nice to appreciate little things like this, sometimes.

Hey, I just wanted to also publicly (federatedly?) announce that the registrations on DragonsCave.space have recently reopened! So if you'd like to be on a cool #Mastodon instance full of disabled folks, with a cool name, and which calls posts "roars", here's your chance!
We've been invite-only for a while now. The last influx of Twitter users overwhelmed us eventually. But since we've now had a third admin for a bit (she's absolutely awesome! We love you, @Estrella !), we'll hopefully be able to handle the extra activity this change might bring.
Edit: But anyone signing up is still expected to read the rules first! If you don't prove you have, there is a very high chance we'll reject you!

To the new people here - Mastodon takes some getting used to.

If you write something clever or funny, or make fun of yourself, or post something heartwarming or beautiful, people like and boost your post. It even works when you're kind to someone on their post.

I want to put this out there for anyone who needs to hear this. No identity is wrong. No identity is bad. No identity means you're a bad person. No identity should be considered a phase or something you'll get over. If your identity changes over time? That's okay! It's completely okay to try things and see what feels right for you. It's completely okay to think your identity is one thing, and later figure out that actually it's something else. It's absolutely valid to go through changes. But no matter how you identify, don't let anyone tell you it's a phase or that you'll get over it. No identity is invalid. No identity is shameful. Be you. Be your authentic, full, true self. Embrace who you are. Because no part of that identity, that is authentically yours, is wrong, shameful, or something you should suppress. Whether you're sure of exactly who you are, or if you're questioning something/multiple somethings, or even if you're not sure on anything yet and still figuring out who you are as yourself. You're so, so valid. Keep being you. Always.

Anyone interested in services like #ChatGPT should check out the new #GenerativeAI service released to the public today. It appears to take a different conversational approach to the same chat concept as we've seen before. It's called PI and you can find it at the address below. It has a voice that responds back if you want to turn it on. Four different voices to choose from. As worried as I am, this stuff fascinates me. This thing is free for now.

Until more / clients are made (for other than specifically ), most of us are purely out of luck!

How ya gonna expect most blind people to jump over to a different platform (with the exception to a instance), if all the work is being specifically put into Mastodon?
