Time to buy a @Fairphone!

Thanks so much for working on this, @postmarketOS. I love it ❤️

postmarketOS welcome screen

Paul,

@tommi oo nice! I've been running a fp4 with /e/ for the last couple of months, pretty happy with it. It's nice to finally have some proper choices in mobile os!

Anyone got an example of an #ActivityPub object with type: "Article"? #mastoDev

Paul, to fediverse

Mastodon doesn't seem to like my new AP server, can anyone help me debug the problem?

#mastodev #activitypub

I published a new npm library: https://www.npmjs.com/package/fedi-get-key

It's for fetching an #activitypub public key and its owner. For use with http signature verification.

Paul,

@evan it resolves the key if it has a fragment, but not the actor - hopefully a rare use case, but I'll remember to add it for next publish

Question: What server-side webframeworks do you all enjoy?

Please don't answer Node.JS or Deno, I want to get a taste for the breadth of this thoroughly explored problem space. What sorts of solutions do people like?

Or feel free to describe your ideal one even if it doesn't exist.

I knows this ties into your taste of language...

Paul,

@alcinnz depends exactly what an individual need but generally my ideal framework would consist of:

  • a decorator based router for fetching models, views and/or controllers
  • a simple request/response interface
  • a templating system for generating html views

I think that's about it, the rest I would implement from scratch.

Why not HTMX? - Go Make Things: https://gomakethings.com/why-not-htmx/

Pretty similar to my thoughts.

I'm keen to implement something similar to HTMX in my browser engine, but I'm specifically aiming to only handle click & submit events. Things work better for more devices that way! And it gives readers a convenient way to implicitly consent to the requests.

Paul,

@alcinnz sounds a bit like openui's invokertarget proposal

Anyone got new #music recommendations? Anything you really love from the last 6 months or so? I'm normally a rock, folk and indie kind of guy but I'll try anything

Good morning! I do not recommend sleeping in a hostel next to a bar that plays loud music until 2am

Continually frustrated by how bad a lot of open source software is. Usually down to a lack of UX design. I know it's not an easy problem to fix, which makes it more frustrating.

I know there's no such thing as an open source app for credit cards, but is there something similar I can use for photos of barcodes from membership cards?

Paul, to random

Are there any designers on here I can pay to spruce up my ugly little website a bit?

UK based preferably so I can pay in £££

Here's what it currently looks like: http://www.mrkiddle.co.uk/types

Not necessarily looking for a big overhaul, mainly layout adjustments and a new colour scheme.
