#NSO update, available right now!

  • Amazing Hebereke: a overhead fighting game with the cutesy characters that was available on Japanese NSO for a while.
  • Super R-Type: a SNES entry partially based on R-Type 2, known for its slowdown.
  • Wrecking Crew '98: A Super Famicom remake of the classic NES game!

Japan also gets Super R-Type and Wrecking Crew, gets Battletoads in Battlemaniacs, and, just for them, Marvelous, a Japan only adventure/puzzle game.

Marvelous is a pretty neat game. Sort of a cross between a point and click adventure game and The Lost Vikings, with a Zelda-like art style.

Don't hold your breath for it to appear on NSO; it would need a translation and Nintendo doesn't really do those for NSO.

My history of crowdfunding:

  • Project Giana: Played it a few times.
  • 100 Yen: The Japanese Arcade Experience: It's alright.
  • Retro Magazine: I may have partially funded the Coleco Chameleon campaign in this attempt to get a US version of the amazing (and unrelated) Retro Gamer Magazine, sorry (didn't resubscribe)
  • Amplitude: It's alright; I'd like to believe this got Rock Band 4 off the ground.
  • Flip Grip: Still have it, still love it, still have a Switch that this supports.

  • Supercade 1985-2001 (book): Glad to see a sequel to the original Supercade, and it's just as good.
  • Coding History: 3D from Mode7 to DOOM (YouTube series): Understandably delayed, but the one episode that was released so far is good.
  • Rollin' Rascal: Still too early to tell, but looks neat. Still need to play the demo.

I can confirm that unsubbing from IIDX #Infinitas doesn't get rid of any of your scores or progress if you decide to resub two months later.

Seems like something I should have assumed (and did assume), but it's nice to know it's true.

Tried to get a PFC on an 11, but I gave up after far too many tries and just did number 29 on a much easier song. Also barely passed Chinese Snowy Dance (a 16), but a pass is a pass.

Pretty nice all around! PFCs 23, 24, and 25, passed Paranoia Survivor on stream, almost got the Extra Stage clear on Pure Rude, and had an overall good time!

Got to see both Silent Hill: The Arcade and Castlevania: The Arcade courtesy of Retro Pals. Castlevania The Arcade looks like a pretty neat game where you whip around a pretend whip with some cool remixes. Never saw either in the wild, though.

Rocket Knight Adventures is getting a collection, courtesy of Limited Run and their Carbon Engine. This includes a limited physical release as well.

Also, a Felix the Cat collection with the NES and Game Boy games, and another collection they'll announce on February 24th during IGN Fan Fest.
