“Pull, pull, Indiana. This is what happens when you wiggle and strain in the bike basket. We both tumbled out last Saturday, but I was the one that hurt my right rear leg.

“At least we got to visit Lort Smith Veterinary Hospital at Campbellfield where a nice Lady vet gave me some nice tasting anti-inflammatory medicine and said I have to rest up for the week.”

Ooooh, Dad got the police fine notice for us doing climate civil disobedience in front of Melbourne’s Flinders Street Station on Saturday 9 December 2023. $385 for failure to obey a police direction to move on. We were all on our Brompton bike at the time (and it was raining) .

Are we the first chihuahuas to be arrested? We didn’t spend time in the lockup, they only took Dad’s details to issue the fine.

We’ll do it again because climate policies are still not at the ambition to avoid catastrophic climate change. Dad has read the science and has tried other avenues of change (and we 🐾 and chewed over the IPCC Global Warming at 1.5C report)

Merry Christmas 🎄 from #ChihuahuasForClimateAction here in #Naarm (Melbourne), chilling out on the couch in the constant rain 🌧️ on Christmas Day.

Such a busy year for us and and we are not even two years old. Wishing peace (but knowing the dogs of war👹 🚷 are loose in Palestine) while the #climateCrisis that threatens all humans, and all species, continues unabated, with the barest acknowledgement of the root cause at the recent UN climate conference.

We'll be back into the fray barking for #ClimateJustice with Dad in 2024.

Geez, we go for a ride to get a loaf of bread🍞 in Coburg, and wind up joining a #FreePalestine #CriticalMass to a Palestinian #CeaseFireNow vigil at Victoria's parliament House steps.

We did 39km all up to get that loaf of bread, but we also ended up visiting 3 dog parks as well. 🐶 🐶

“What a day! We attended Coburg North Food Swap, lunch opposite Brunswick Town Hall, attended the Socialist Alliance end of year picnic, popped into the Merri-bek Council Library futures free Palestine space at the Old Coburg station, sat down with the Melbourne Anarchist Communist picnic, then attended Coburg Night Market. Dad met and spoke with Pascoe Vale Labor MP Anthony Cianflone at Coburg Night Market on Gas Substitution Roadmap Update.

"We also stopped for a photo at Merribek Primary school on Moreland Road for the great mural telling a macro and micro story about the Merri region.

“Quite a political education in networking with different groups on the progressive side of politics. We remain in awe of Dad.

“Last week it was an education in climate civil disobedience, this Saturday on political networking.

We were arrested today doing climate civil disobedience in Melbourne with Dad, sit down protest in an intersection in front of Flinders St Station. After being arrested we were lead away, police asked to see and photograph Dad's ID, they didn't ask to see our pet registration tags!!! (yes we had them on) Then they let us go, as long as we promised not to go back to the intersection.

We were in good company, some 72 people arrested for blocking an intersection, highlighting the #climateEmergency and need for rapid #FossilFuelPhaseout

We did a visit to the Container Deposit Scheme collection Depot in Hadfield. Good to see container recycling finally but this is still a band-aid measure for the #PlasticsCrisis we have.

Awhooooo... Day of the dead, Halloween. We got in early cycling on the Critical Mass Spooky edition that rode north from Melbourne CBD through Yarra to Darebin.

What a ride, with four of us canines brilliantly shepherding our humans on cycles safely through Melbourne streets and peak hour traffic congestion as a pack. We waved to diners in Cafes as we passed.

We have definitely noticed more e-bikes around especially reaching into the northern suburbs of #Merribek. Now we we need the protected cycling lanes to ensure a safe cycling environment.

We had to wait for Dad to have lunch at Bonwick street. Temperature shows it is 31.4C in the shade of the cafe awning. It reached 31.8C when we left. It’s hotter on the street. Can we go home now, Dad?

Summer has arrived!! We went for a cycle along #UpfieldBikePath at Merlynston. Temperatures at 12.45pm were 34.6C. Near Sydney Rd ambient air temps were 30C-32C. State Government failed to incorporate canopy shade as suggested by local humans when car park upgrade was done. Pure negligence as we face increased #urbanheat and extreme #heatwave temperatures.

Sorry #CouchPeloton, we were a DNS last night. It's a whale of a tale! Dad took us in to the city (Naarm - Melbourne) on the bike (a 30km roundtrip) to the Whale Song not Seismic Blasting rally. We had a great time there, including listening to a Gunditjmara woman from SW Victoria talking about seacountry and the importance of whales in indigenous cultural songlines.

How silly is it the Australian 🇦🇺 Government allowing exploring for more oil and gas, damaging marine ecosystems when we have enough Fossil Fuels already to cook the planet?
So when we got home Dad fed us and himself and fell pooped into his fav armchair and promptly fell asleep. So we missed getting our #FRATL in. I know, it was frustrating for us, though we are proud to march in support of our cousin mammals, the great whales, and all the little zooplankton.

We have rested Dad today for tonight 🐶 🐶
