If you’re curious about how our Simple License is performing, I have some data for you:

Over the past 6 months, it has accounted for 24% of the licenses sold.
It’s also accounted for 47% of licensing revenue.

We’ve sold a Simple License in every tier as well as custom quotes for larger customers.

I went with a standard SL-1200 model last year (finally)…

…but the SL-1500 now comes with a semi-automatic tone arm lifter, preventing very common needle wear. And a Ortofon Red needle!

I don’t understand private equity finance, but I can imagine that if my company had to pay the interest on a 1.45 bn dollar loan I’d be a bit nervous with this news. It shows that Monotype is more valuable as a thing to borrow against than actual income from licenses. Oh dear. #monotype #finance #privateequity

@Luke @letterror No, see it’s fine. Monotype is the steward of fine type design. That’s why they wanted to buy all the foundries. Leveraging all of that to pay the owners of an equity company would never lead to anything but a promising future.
