Pink, purple and blue flowers all out in the garden today.
Very windy but a red tailed bumble bee is still out feeding on the chive flowers #BloomScrolling#bee#flowers
This female orange tip butterfly came to visit us in the kitchen today. Not sure how or why she got in, but managed to get a close up picture of the impressively camouflaged wings once released back outside #butterfly#OrangeTip#nature
Our Cephalotus plant is growing new leaves and catching the sun on our kitchen windowsill. I love the bright green of the leaves with sun shining through.
Nearly time for a new pot again. #SavageGarden#InsectivorousPlants#Cephalotus
Has anyone had any experience of using anaerobic digester digestate (the solid stuff that comes out the end)? One of the community gardens I’m involved with has been offered a tonne bag full of it.
I think it can be used as a mulch but we’ve been warned not to add it too thickly. I’ve been gifted a small bag of the digestate today & it smelled a bit like ammonia.
Any tips? #Gardening@gardening #AnaerobicDigester
Friday flowers (kind of)- poppy heads with and without petals. The purple stamen look like fuzzy pipe cleaners laid on the top of the seed head. #FridayFlowers
Garlic mustard, in flower just now, one of the food plants of the orange tip butterfly (we’ve been seeing lots of those about this past week)
Taken on a windy day this week in Fife. #WildFlowerHour
