I do this when eating food I don’t like and I used to be a very fussy eater. I was at my friends house and she cooked food and I was forcing it down to be polite and she asked if I liked the food. I said yeah its really good and she burst out laughing because apparently my face looked like I was eating a war head. She said I can tell when you don’t like something because you always scrunch your face. Apparently I used to do it in conversations as well.

I like the way you think. I need to try that.

Thanks for all the advice. I wish I posted this before I cooked my steak.

True. In the 2000s i was one of the few people in my school who knew how to find fucked up videos. I was like a gore dealer. My friends and I would download things for people. They would mostly request porn, movies, games and TV shows. After 2 girls 1 cup lots of people would ask for gore and shock videos. Like isis chainsaw beheading, African village pedo beaten eel soup. Always men never women but that might have been cause the high-school was all male.

I got so desensitized after watching 100s of videos of people brutally dying but after not watching anything gory for a few years I went back to normal and have normal reactions to the extreme videos. I can’t even watch fight videos anymore because seeing someone get their head stomped is to much.

Alright who’s gonna be the first anti covid schizo to reply to this post.

What is your use case? They don’t make laptops like you described because it’s not necessary. You can have a thin light laptop with good performance and reasonable battery life. Thickness is no longer required.

I’ve been recently forced into a Microsoft only environmental for work and one of the features from edge that I’d like to see in Firefox is the split screen. I know Firefox can do this better as the edge feature is so basic.

Fizz,
@Fizz@lemmy.nz avatar

If I want to do two things at once. Splitting the page in the browser looks better and works better than having two browser windows tiled next to each other.

Fizz,

Clicking a button is easier.

Also its more screen space efficient. Two browser windows side by side duplicates the bookmark and url bar squashing it down.

Having both pages next to each other in the same window is very nice and once you get used to it you don’t want to go back.

We have splitting in file mangers and it’s a loved feature.

To look at two different parts at the same time. Or two different web pages. Both are useful.

Fizz,

Might give that a geez and see how it works.

Probably because it’s not relevant to the original post but I’m happy that it’s generated some discussion.

Why would you think it’s a good political move to sign a bomb in such a controversial conflict. It boggles my mind who suggested that as a good idea.

Fizz,
@Fizz@lemmy.nz avatar

Wow that’s definitely more Maori than I would have expected. It must be an auckland perception thing because maori are only 10% of our city and probably less if you live in central Auckland.

Now the government messaging makes more sense. When I first saw fully Teo reo press releases I was thinking who is this for they’d be better off releasing this in Chinese.

Doesn’t the US mine a lot of its own cobalt. If this is being caused by a boom in demand its probably from Chinese electric vehicle demand.

Fizz,
@Fizz@lemmy.nz avatar

Oh my bad. I was completely wrong about America producing cobalt locally. It does seem they import most from Africa.

I did get figures that support my statement that most of the demand is driven by China. I checked through 2021, 2022 and 2023 and China is a large majority of the demand and demand increase. America makes up less than 10% of global ev sales and their demand is not “booming” when compared with the Chinese ev demand increases.

Here’s a paragraph that outlines what I’m saying. Ev now accounts for almost half of all cobalt demand and is increasing year on year.

the passenger segment accounted for 87% of EV demand in 2023 and is the largest demand driver over the forecast period. Global passenger EV sales rose to 13.8 million units in 2023, up 33% y/y – a fall from 58% y/y growth in 2022. Of this, China (7.9 million), EU (3.5 million) and the US (1.4 million) accounted for 93% of sales. - cobalt institute market report 2023.

Npc waiting for someone to interact with them. Someone tell him he can make things happen himself.

If you’re going to water down the phrase by misusing it then you should expect confusion. Especially when its just as easy to give an answer that isn’t a lie.

I saw this on the news yesterday. It was insane. The guy who stepped out was seemed so calm.

Fizz,

What kind of issues are you facing?

Do you have exotic hardware? Like high refresh rate monitors?

Fizz,

You can watch a 5min video on how to do it. It’s really not rocket science
