@Edent While, I found out about it as I started my PhD, because I want to get my work out there fixing climate things ASAP, not wait right to the bitter end. Details may vary by uni. I am expected to publish 3 or 4 papers and wrap them in a further (smaller, I hope) piece of work. With luck my first piece will make it through re-review in the next week or so...

This is an industrial designed exercise bike from Lithuania that can store 2KWh of electricity generated by your own exercise.

The electricity can then be used for loads of stuff - it has a bunch of DC outputs, like USB-C (up to 60W) and USB-A, and AC outputs (can output up to 2KW - enough for an oven!)

It can also be fed from a solar panel, or the mains.

Itโ€™s about 3K EUR, so not much more than a high end Peloton , but obvs serving a very different marketโ€ฆ

Well my meeting with the pro-bono psychotherapist was a bust. He doesnโ€™t believe in bipolar and thinks itโ€™s basically a marketing ploy by Big Pharma. So thatโ€™s really not a good fit with me and my worldview, the diagnosis makes sense of my experiences in a way no other explanation has. Guess I will have to shop around for a therapist.

Been out in the heavy rain to mail our postal ballots for the police and crime commissioner election. We havenโ€™t had a single thing from any of the candidates, but I found a document online with statements from all the candidates. The Tory seemed to be saying that heโ€™d be a good PCC because he was a top manager in the brewing and distilling industry. The Labour candidate was all โ€œtough on crime, tough on the causes of crimeโ€ ๐Ÿฅฑ I voted for the current commissioner, a Plaid Cymru candidate, as he was the only one who actually stated what he intended to do. All a bit rubbish
