So Imma tell a story:

I volunteered to be a part of a Juneteenth parade for my job. As everyone is getting ready, I end up talking to a board member who ends up talking to a white lady he knows. This woman ends up bringing her mother, and the mom shows off her dog, proudly proclaiming that she dressed the dog as Harriet Tubman

She also had a sign that said this was (town's name) most liberated pet.

If you are going to participate in a holiday that isn't yours culturally, stop and think.

Whenever I see an American flag, it give me the ick.

I'm non binary because I never really cared about the gender I was assigned, the people around me did. I also don't see the point of trying to fit myself in a place that was never made for me. Black people weren't seen as men or women, but as animals and property, and it shows even today with how we are treated. That being said, I understand that people see me and will treat me as a Black woman, and I still identify as a Black woman to some degree. I'm just not a woman. Hope that makes sense.

Sometimes, I wonder what enslaved Americans ate. I have a general idea based on the rations they were given and how we spiced up massa's kitchen, but I am really curious about the everyday foods of my ancestors. If y'all got any resources, I would love to hear from you!

Someone kept bringing up Mastodon so I decided to join. Y'all can just call me Collard Green Dreams, or CGD for short. Here are some relevant things about me:

I'm African-American
I'm Bi and Non-Binary
I'm pretty sure I have ADHD, Autism, or both
I have a ton of interests that vary, such as VNs, books, film, vampires, ATR, history, science, and food.
