Attending a virtual conference on how to talk to people about climate change on Tuesday. Looking forward to hearing what the speakers have to say. I don't know what I am hoping to hear, but I do hope to come away with some more tools in my toolbox.

It always amazes me how many people in cities drive big ass vehicles. I drive an SUV. I live on a dirt road, drive dirt roads the majority of the time, and have to have four wheel drive to get up the road in the winter. What is their excuse?

Does anyone have any experience putting on an art show? My Zonta club is looking into (I am the committee chair) putting on an art show during domestic violence awareness month. We would be selling local art work and part of the proceeds would go to our local domestic violence shelter. Anything I should be keeping in mind? Any advice would be great. Our first meeting is after the holidays, but I would like to come to the table with as much info as possible.

We had to put our elderly dog down yesterday. Today I keep looking behind me to see if he's following. I miss him so much. He used to follow me from room to room and would sit at the door all day until I got home. It's just a sad day for me.

In the past we have had people ask about making donations to help curb our cost of running the server.

As Bookstodon.com is a labor of love (books are my real life obsession), we will never ask for donations.

We are also able to keep our costs low due to running our own Mastodon hosting platform.

I finished a book that wasn't for work! First one in like 3 months. I decided last night to try a romance which is a genre I haven't read much of in the last couple of years. I started the book last night and finished today.

My headphones are dead so I can't finish what I was doing for work. I complained to the husband and he said to read a book. So that is exactly what I intend to do.

I know everyone likes to dump on rural people as though we're a monolith and are all MAGA and stupid, but we're not. Come to a rural area sometime and see what you find. In my community up north, we have a co-op grocery store. Has been around forever providing groceries, hardware, and feed for animals. In my community in northern Michigan we're fighting real estate investors (from your "big" cities) who want to build Higgins Lake up into the next resort town. 1/

The dogs are having a very bad day. The neighbor is getting a new septic put in and it's noisy and there are people out there. I can't let the dogs in the backyard because they will have a fit. They don't like people in Maggie's yard one little bit.

They are also having to get in the car today to go to the cabin. They hate car rides.

Like I said, the dogs are having a bad day and they don't even realize it's going to get worse.

I am going to set myself a goal for the end of the week and if I accomplish the task, I am going to buy myself a cross stitch kit. I have been wanting to cross stitch again (my mom taught me when I was young, but as I aged I found other things to spend my time doing). Thinking it might be fun to try a small kit again.
