@CindySue @bookstodon I'm reading The Other Valley. The premise is that the town to the East of you is 20 years ahead of you, and the town to the West of you is 20 years behind. This repeats in many towns in each direction, otherwise exactly alike, each town set in its own valley. I like the creepy factor.

@kimlockhartga @bookstodon That sounds interesting!

@CindySue @bookstodon Unruly by David Mitchell. Funny and informative

kimlockhartga,
@kimlockhartga@beige.party avatar

@luciedigitalni @CindySue @bookstodon semi off-topic, but I wish one or both of the authors named David Mitchell would use a middle initial. I was pretty sure which one you were reading, but I wonder why each refuses to distinguish himself from the other? And they're both British, so even that distinction doesn't help.

steps down from soapbox

@kimlockhartga @CindySue @bookstodon Google/Wikipedia consider one to be (comedian) and the other to be (author) so I suppose that's what we have to use. Perhaps they should consider the example set by Iain (M.) Banks

kimlockhartga,
@kimlockhartga@beige.party avatar

@luciedigitalni @CindySue @bookstodon Good to know. I always wondered why.Ha!

Likewise,
@Likewise@beige.party avatar

@CindySue I am reading the second book in the ACOTAR series, A Court of MIst and Fury by Sarah J. Maas.

CindySue,
@CindySue@bookstodon.com avatar

@Likewise Oh! I am intimidated by the length of the series so have never started it.

Likewise,
@Likewise@beige.party avatar

@CindySue Oh don’t be! Try the first one. I am not a fantasy reader ( nor are series my thing) at all, so this was stepping out of my norm. My SIL told me to give it a hundred pages. I still was thinking, yeah, ok. Well I’m almost done with book 2.

CindySue,
@CindySue@bookstodon.com avatar

@Likewise I have the first book on my Kindle. I'll have to give it a shot.
