Congratulations Nanaimo on banning natural gas in new homes. 💚
This is a huge step for climate action and indoor air quality.
The list of BC municipalities that have implemented similar bans also includes Saanich, Victoria, Whistler, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Squamish, and Port Coquitlam.
Vancouver is not on the list of municipalities who are taking action on climate change by restricting natural gas in new homes, because our new mayor and ABC-majority council are unfortunately climate laggards.
Ken Sim said he’d limit partisan politics once elected.
But with the hiring of Harrison Flemming, formerly part of one of the most aggressively partisan administrations in Canada, observers say Sim appears to have dropped this pretence. #VanPoli#OnPoli#AbPoli
Good news! Not only is my account no longer negative but I have the $15 I needed to purchase my physical drivers license! As soon as it comes in the mail (or maybe I get a temp one) I'll try driving for the first time since 2017!
On the ropes but I'm not throwing in the towel! Please donate to my paypal or gofundme, and read about what I'm going through trying to secure housing as a poor Black woman with mental illnesses. I would appreciate it
Donations at a crawl but I’m only halfway to what I desperately need, and only a quarter of the way to my overall goal. I’m begging anyone who sees this just to at least take the time to read my story and consider sharing
The phrase “all my friends are dead” is found across the #DowntownEastside, expressing the overwhelming sense of loss in the neighbourhood over the past decade.

Nothing has changed for the better for me. In fact, I've had to take out $600 in payday loans to cover debt, food, and dental. I can't do this alone and I have until early December at best.
Great news for Toronto, Olivia Chow seems to have won. Looks like Toronto will now have a much more progressive mayor than Vancouver, something that hasn't happened in a long while. Good for Toronto! #vanpoli#torpoli
The illicit drug supply was likely slightly less toxic in May, says Brooke Kinniburgh, a harm reduction leader with BCCDC, resulting in a slight decrease in deaths from May to April.
Fundraising for housing day 6 and I'm at 10% of my goal already! Thank you so much everyone! You can read more on the gfm page and donate there or on paypal. I wish I had more ways to show my gratitude💜💜💜:
