Lost my first game in the campaign but came back and just barely won the second. I am really loving the pieces of story interwoven in as you play and the changes from game to game.
I am a left leaning millennial and have almost lost all hope for the US, and frankly the world at this point. I think that millennials and Gen Z are a force to be reckoned within the US political system. That gives my cynical heart hope.
I keep getting wrecked by damage (aka running out of cards for those who don't know) in The Legacy of Yu. Even when buying Townspeople cards liberally, I can't keep up with the amount of Townspeople I lose when building canal pieces 3 and 4.
I finally pulled the trigger on #Flamecraft after looking at it at every game store I've been into for months. I'm bout to try it out with a #solo game!
Happy Sunday Funday! For any of you out there curious about the brand new game, #Expeditions, check out our new videos we just posted!
If you're new to my videos, I typically put out 2. The BURST is a 3 to 4 minute look at everything you need to know about the game. The standard version will be a deeper dive, typically from 30 to 60 minutes. Enjoy!
Worked from home today which is usually wonderful EXCEPT for some reason I had the new #Scythe (sequel), "Expeditions," sent to my work address! Oof! Guess I will get to look at it tomorrow when I'm back in the office.
• Ticket to ride. We got trounced by a guy who built a giant hand for the first dozen turns and then proceeded to buy the entire northern line. As he built up cards I said “Uh oh, it’s the hedge fund”, and then the hedge fund started investing in railways.
• We Didn’t Playtest This At All. As always, lives up to its name 😅Best moment of the night was when someone got everyone but me and her out of the game, a person played “Spite” (you just lost? Fine! Everyone else loses!) and I played “Surprise!” (you just lost when there were only two players left? Surprise, you won!)
• Let’s Summon Demons. Sold my soul and won! My Clockwork Satan put in the work; had two turns where I rolled 9 three times in a row 😂
Linds and I made #ArkNova work on the smallest and narrowest coffee table present in our cabin. What didn't work was my strategy this game as she beat me 21 to -6.
Not pictures, the auxiliary table holding the Association board.
This is it everyone, the night I finally beat Geppetto with Charlie. I'm on the back porch, with great weather, great music in my earbuds, and a Mnt Dew Melon Zero Sugar. If the stars aren't aligning tonight, I don't know if they ever will.
First #solo#game of the evening was #ArkNova, but sadly, it was a loss. Hard to get used to how rapidly breaks come towards the end of this game. I ended up with a ton of money but nothing to do with it at end. Plus, getting all my workers out but getting ZERO bonuses from them because of the player mat I had, was detrimental.
Finally played Fit to Print, an adorable newspaper layout game. Adorable because you play animals laying out papers with animal themed stories/ads/images. Enjoyed it! My only negative is small size & limited color differentiation of icons. #BoardGames#TabletopGames
Is it not a delight to have friends visiting from afar? Or, in this case, to have a friend send you a whole bunch of fun new games to play! (from a kickstarter of hers that I backed)
Thanks to the inimitable @StuffByBez for some new opportunities for fun.
