As I work today I'm listening to the soundtrack from the 1982 Conan the Barbarian film that was composed by Basil Poledouris. Things are feeling fairly barbaric at the moment here in the Arizona desert
We have a dark electronica double whammy this week, with the arrival of Pye Corner Audio's 'The Endless Echo' from Ghost Box, and The Night Monitor's 'Horror of the Hexham Heads' from Library of the Occult.
Nightmares on wax...👀
John Williams is among 19 new members of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. The 92-year-old composer has won five of the 53 Oscars he was nominated for, and also conducted the Boston Pops for more than a decade and has composed classical concertos. Here's a story from ABC on Williams and the other 18 inductees to the Academy of Arts this year, which included composer Terence Blanchard, novelist Alice McDermott and artist Matthew Barney. We want to know, which is your favorite of these (some answers are movies and others are franchises where more appropriate).
Father/son music night, and the boy got to pick tonight’s two albums while we play Ticket To Ride.
Again… HIS choice.
And quite the interesting choice it was. He chose Waxwork Records’ reissues of the first two Friday The 13th #soundtracks .
He’s never seen any of the films, and he won’t ever. He hates horror movies. However, he loves good music. And he recognizes just how cool Harry Manfredini’s scores are.
Kombiniere #Radio mit erinnerungswürdigen Charakteren, Hirnschmalz-Rätseln und sehr eigenständigen Game-Artworks. Ergibt: Eine Stunde Game-Soundtracks.
Megaman Zero 2's intro track "Departure" will likely forever be my go-time hype track, because I really don't find anything much more inspiring than a tired warrior wandering through the wilderness - fighting for what he believes in until his body literally gives out.
Since the VLC just runs through the music folder on my Windows 7 machine in alphabetical order, sometimes I'll end up hearing something I haven't heard in a while and I stick on it, which is cool.
Apparently today is the day I run through everything instrumental I have on here by Trent Reznor (and Atticus Ross). That's Ghosts I-VI and the MANY soundtracks he's done (Before the Flood, Bird Box, Gone Girl, Quake, Patriot's Day, Mank, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Social Network, Empire of Light, Mutant Mayhem, Watchmen).
#NowPlaying If Diamonds are Forever had been made in this era of 'extended universe' spin-off series, Mr Wint & Mr Kidd would have had their own series.
And now I realise this is something I really want to see. #vinyl#soundtracks#Jamesbond
We are Endless Blue, a #TripHop duo (and sometimes band) from San Marcos, CA by way of Milwaukee and Minneapolis. We’ve been at this for just shy of 20 years, self-producing numerous albums, appearing on several indie #soundtracks , and playing a bunch of shows. Our music is on all the things, but mostly here:
