A society where humanity has entered into sloth, concerned only that its entertainment remain uninterrupted. Intro post for my #pirate friends:
I've been around the #fandom world for a long time. Current obsessions are #ofmd and #deadloch. My major creative contributions are in #podfic, though I've also been known to knock out a #fanfic and #fanart or two. Looking to reconnect with my twt peeps and find some cool new fandom friends here. A03/other links in my profile.
So I downloaded a whole bunch of free or pay-what-you-want Game Boy games off itch.io for my Game Dad. They're all made with GB Studio (which is a free super-easy game-making program to make Game Boy games) and so far they're all pretty chill.
A highlight is Analog Age Rainy Day, which has you playing as a kid trying to survive a rainy day; catch is it's 1984 so there's no phones or game boy or anything so you've gotta find ways to amuse yourself.
A lovely benefit of using the Game Dad for Game Boy games is the ability to shift the palette so that it's red-on-black for playing in bed without giving me insomnia. It only works for Game Boy games though, not Game Boy Colour or Advance; I wish this were an option I could toggle in Retroarch for all my games.
I'm getting into the idea of writing my own Game Boy game and I think I want to make it about a tiny smol officeboy/retailboy who gets laid off and joins a moving company to make a bit of quick cash, and finds that he loves using his body and feeling those aches and becoming stronk. And like this is possible now, it's very do-able to make a game that isn't about saving the world or whatever, doesn't have to have mass appeal enough to justify burning a bunch of ROMs and moulding a bunch of cartridges, you can chuck it up on the internet as easily as we could copy a tape game in a boombox thirty years ago and if ten people fall in love with it then Hooray.
[OC] Floria, the Terror of The Sea. She is from my webcomic called Working Around. She is often referred to as "The most fearsome pirate this world had ever seen" although nobody ever dares to check whether it's true or not. She is the wife of Captain Dereck Gigerbeard (It's DereCk so that he won't be confused with non-captain Dereks, duh 😆 ) and together they sail across the sea engaging in illegal activities of sorts.
I should probably draw the rest of the comic crew sometimes. Most of them never got an actual illustration other than their comic appearance and it's a shame.
I am currently playing in the "Corsairs of Cthulhu" campaign. I'm having a lot of fun, though this makes me want to run a #pirate -themed #CallOfCthulhu campaign of my own.
But with added factions of time travelers - both Nazis who managed to open a time portal in Neuschwabenland at the end of WWII and now seek to build a new Third Reich in history (starting with the Carribean because of all the potential plunder) and a number of WWII-era Delta Green commandos who try to stop them.
With the PCs being hapless pirates caught in the middle who have to figure out where all these weird people and their tech came from, and what to do about it.
So, I am curious: What Call of Cthulhu scenarios feature human-controlled time travel (as opposed to time travel by the Great Race of Yith)?
And do any scenarios feature multiple different timelines?
I've gotten a few new followers in the latest wave, so here's an introduction
I'm Jay. You may want to hide boosts (Account > kebab menu > Hide boosts on web and Tusky) as I boost (maybe too much) politics, fedi meta, and sillyiness, whereas my posts are mostly family life, photos, and politics.
I'm active in the #Pirate party, less actively involved in FOSS, I write short fiction, I have strong opinions, loosely held.

The Pirate's Tower at Victoria Beach along the California Coast captures the imagination with it's fascinating history and gorgeous setting. A stone tower, built in the 1920s adds an air of mystery along this beautiful beach. Learn more just follow the link.
