Manifesto of the day: for any executable X that shows up in the list of running processes, 'man X' should work and tell me what it does. This is actually the case on the #OpenBSD base system, but #Linux is very very far away.
Today, I revamped my blog theme ( https://it-notes.dragas.net ) and moved it to @OpenBSDAms VPS, powered by httpd.
BunnyNet stands as the CDN upfront, can we still consider it hosted on OpenBSD? 🤔

imagine someone reading this thread then thinking that #doas and doas on its native #openbsd had had these problems, rather than the linux port
If you ever wanted to see how a failing NVME SSD underneath #OpenBSD 's softraid crypto layer looks like, here you.
From one moment to another, the system was unusable due to the sheer amount of softraid failures. I cannot boot beyond single user mode because the partitions cannot be marked as clean.
I had proper backup, so reinstalling on another SSD wasn't a problem. I could mount the dirty partitions r/o and so transfer the diff over as well.
The #CVE count of the #Linux#kernel is not looking good these days compared to any other #OS is it. Maybe time to switch to #FreeBSD or some other system which doesn't claim to find hundreds of significant vulnerabilities every day
@mort Are you listening to yourself? The system which reports fewer security issues is more secure? Really? Then you should switch to #OpenBSD, because they hide their security errors best!
