Here is an image of a local Bluebell Wood. Although Bluebells are naturalised in other parts of the world, they are actually native to Western Europe, and over half of the world's population are found in the UK.
Bluebells are a common indicator species for ancient woodlands, so bluebell woods can date back at least 1600 years.

Lately, I've been thinking about what it means to have come from the equator. Imagine growing up with no seasons, except 'rain' and 'monsoon' and 'hot' and 'hotter'. Everything around you is green, all year round, never brown. Lush is not just the word they use in magazines about tropical travel, but it's the only world you know.
I bought a couple of job lots of #rangefinder gear yesterday - a lot of #Leica stuff and some Soviet lenses in LTM and Contax mounts - and now I’m trying to take stock of it all and check it all over.
It’s a bit overwhelming.
