Before, "Ma" Rainey or Bessie Smith (no relation) there was Mamie Smith, believed to be Black artist to make a vocal music recording. She broke the color barrier, sales records, in music, with "Crazy Blues" in 1920, with 1 million copies sold in a year, and introduced the world to the Blues genre.
Still learning #bass guitar. One year in (started when I was 50). Today I discovered that there’s an infinite number of 12-bar #blues tracks on YouTube minus the bass. Perfect for riffing on and practicing scales and stuff.
