As #flatpak has become more popular, I have tried to help make #plugin (s) Flatpak ready.
Interestingly, I keep coming across a general rejection, like "it's not worth the effort", "it's not the future", etc.
I am aware that it has drawbacks. But are you also against it?
Apart from the amount of space it can take up, I have to say that I've never really had any complaints, and I've sort of already accepted it as a kind of convenient, non-system #linux#packagemanager, I guess. #linuxaudio
@gozes Exactly! I have 212 #plugin (s) installed and even though in the beginning many did not work with #bitwigstudio or #ardour#flatpak, now there's only a hand full of plugins left with Flatpak issues.
OK, it's not open source, and it doesn't have anything to do with maps, but bear with me for a second if you're into music or audio production as well:
Studio One is coming to Linux;
Bitwig Studio and Studio One have developed a interoperable format, allowing to pass projects from one to another.
Pretty good news for the #linuxAudio world, if you ask me.
@JamesDBartlett3 I am a long time #bitwigstudio user. 😜 @plaimbock and I have been talking about the fact that #ableton are shipping a #linux version of Live with their new Push (not available to the public except for running on Push) and that it could be a great driver for third-party plugin availability on Linux if they (just like Bitwig) officially made Live available for #linuxaudio.
