Hey #RetroComputing bubble, please hit me with links to your favorite tracker files (MOD/S3M/XM/SID).
Preferably download links and/or online players, but YouTube is OK, too.
What’s was the first game you bought for yourself? Not sure if #SuperMarioWorld for the #SNES counts because it was a pack-in but I also bought #StreetFighter2Turbo at the same time
@mrpablington I have to admit, I only ever bought ONE single game, this was called #KryptonEgg, yet another #Breakout clone which I only bought (for the PC) because #Amegas (on the #Amiga) fascinated me, and it was for sale at a department store, boxed, budget 😂
But I very much enjoyed quite a few video games on the good old #C64. You know, back then, there was the school yard, and if your were knowledgable, you could even deal that (offering help) for some copies .... 🙈
#LordsOfTime had an illustrated remake on 16 bit systems (#Amiga, #AtariST). It's still the same game, with very few text adaptations. Well worth checking out for fans of early 1980s treasure hunts.
I was reminded again by a friend that Alain Malek (🪦R.I.P. 2000) a.k.a. Hornet / Alcatraz had left hidden messages for me and other friends in Datel’s Amiga Replay for Amiga 1200.
Here's some hard truth about C - It's not going away. It's not that it's perfect, but it is immensely portable and useful. More importantly, no other #programming language has come close to its ubiquity. I'm not saying other languages don't do some things better (they definitely do!), but we're going to be stuck with C for a while yet.
@linux_mclinuxface How about an alternative reality where the #Commodore#Amiga wasn't lightyears ahead of its time and the market had actually embraced it?
