Have a vanilla Super Mario World romhack which doesn't really change things up too much other than level design. It's also a bit short and possibly easier than the original game?
The Koopalings though they behave the same have been arranged in the order of the NSMBWii game.
Recommended for newcomers that want to play more Mario World and wade their toes in the possibilities.
I still got it!!! 😎
I beat #SuperMarioWorld with all secrets. In truth, I only have 95/96 exits, but I definitely went through all levels, so I assume I missed a regular exit somewhere in the Forest of Illusion.
Anyway, I'm done and happy. This was a joy to revisit. 🥰
I listened to a podcast about #SuperMarioWorld and that really made me want to pick it back up.
So I did! 🤩
What an amazing game. I wasn't able to appreciate it as a kid, because I wanted the "better looking" Donkey Kong, but SMW has aged much better in comparison. The levels are breezy and I'm already knocking at the doors of castle 3 and 4 (there are some secret levels skipping castle 3).
I only wanted to dip in for a few levels, but I think I'll finish this again. #ShareYourGames
Now you can play as Peach and Daisy as they rescue Mario and Luigi from Bowser and Tatanga.
Shoot your fireballs at an upwards angle, double jump with the cape. You also have your Mario 2 jumping what with the floating and the crouch charging jump. Level design accounts for all this of course.
Another banger from that bandicoot fella for sure.
Luigi gets to try to save Daisy from the same alien.
'bandicoot' does it again. Outside of expected cliches, the level design gets different-er. Luigi is on this quest at the same time Mario is in Princess Rescue 1 but had time to leave messages for his bro.
Every so often there's a level where you just search around for the Dragon coins you need in a less linear level. Or sometimes you get a Wing Cap.
(record scratch) You're probably wondering how I got here. I dunno, the plot's even less important than usual but it's another Super Mario World mod by bandicoot and that's good enough for me. So some observations.
Big dots for arena levels with Hammer Bros. Get Dragon Coins to access bonus levels. Find a little secret for hoarding powerups per world.
Bowser tries one last time by kidnapping Rosalina.
More of that classic flavor for Super Mario World. This time around the game would like it if you became a Dragon Coin hoarder. Get enough to unlock some extra goodies.
The usual themes are here but look over there in the distance, a pink continent! It's theme is that it's just pink. Also at the end you go into space and the final Bowser fight is quite theatric.
Bowser and company are going to secure the magical crystals from the previous game.
More of "bandicoot"'s familiar level design.
In the definitive version of these Classics the level design is more polished up to dissuade glitches. If you fall into a bottomless pit you come back up and go down a hitpoint rather than just dying.
There's also the local Bonus House per world you can peruse to restock your powerups.
