Dans la série « mieux vaut (parfois très) tard que jamais » : #Amarok 3, nouvelle version (et première depuis… 2018 !), vient de sortir ! Et histoire de rester au goût du jour (ou pas…), elle est désormais écrite en Qt5 !

Oui, le même Qt5 qui est maintenant plus ou moins déprécié, vu que son successeur Qt6 est sorti depuis plus d’un an, maintenant…

Enfin, ce logiciel est toujours vivant, c’est toujours ça (pas comme NeoFetch, dont le dépôt est désormais archivé depuis vendredi dernier… RIP !) !

Cool KDE Plasma Tip: Quickly access task manager apps with [Meta] + [number]

@kde's task manager usually lives in the panel located by default at the bottom of your desktop (see attached image).

Quickly open or display apps shown in the task manager by holding down the [Meta] (aka "Windows") key and hitting one of the number keys at the top of your keyboard.

Reach the first app on the left with [Meta] + [1], the second from the left with [Meta] + [2], etc.

Don’t know if this will work but I want to ask the #music lovers here…

Anyone have good alternatives for #roon ?

I’ve had a subscription with them for 6 years now. Kinda getting tired of the cost:benefit ratio.

What I do like: Metadata, organization of the library contents, decent UI, mobile app support (Roon more than ARC, but ARC is ok)

What I don’t really need or like: Remote playing (controlling other speakers in the house), paying Tidal if I want good recommendations, kinda bloated and slow app

I’ve used plenty of #vlc , #foobar, #clementine / #strawberry, even #amarok back in the day

I’m really looking for any music solution that’s a little bit of a media manager w/metadata, especially if it can manage all that on a server.

I don’t mind paying for services, I’m just tired of the Roon bills on top of streaming services too.

Like - I want less than Roon but more than VLC.

Any recommendations?
