At the end of my 40s I still love #VideoGames. I play on #XboxSeriesS and #GamePass (use cloud gaming while away) and increasingly on my beloved #SteamDeck for those sweet non-Xbox games.
Recently (last 12 months) (re-)played games include:
I just got my first full screen notification about a Game Pass game (one I don't care at all about) Modern Warfare 3 being available. Changed my notifications so quickly after that one.
As the only way to dismiss it was to select the exit as I could see nothing else but this damn ad!
This is the sort of bs that makes me not want to sign up for a service. It's not like this is even a game which would appeal to me (Microsoft has the data, at the very least make it relevant)!
So recently I was having some #AnalysisParalysis with my #Games collection. Those I own, those I wanted to play, those I haven't finished yet, and missing trophies too. It was like 3 or 4 days stuck like that 😭
Watching a video about it on YouTube of Healthy Gamer GG gave me some insight about the issue and ways of reducing that kind of symptoms.
Mainly I reduced my options, lowered my attachment to my #PS3 and gave myself a longer time limit for completing my objectives, to reduce the anxiety
I ended up installing #NeedForSpeedUnderground on my #XboxSeriesS and that's the game I'm gonna play now on (Emulation on Series S is something really amazing 😍) and suddenly I began to enjoy gaming again. For me, modern games don't do it, and I discovered that there are some games specially from #PS2 and #PS3 era that are the ones that I like to replay from time to time.
The Fallout franchise is experiencing a significant resurgence, largely fueled by the recent success of its Amazon Studios adaptation. Mirroring the acclaim of HBO’s The Last of Us series, the Fallout TV show has received a strong reception with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 94%. This boost has notably affected Fallout 4, which has seen its highest player count since its initial release in 2016.
On platforms like Steam, Fallout 4 currently ranks fourth in trending games, with recent player counts reaching up to 93,294 concurrent players—a stark increase from the usual numbers around 25,000 in recent years. This surge is anticipated to grow with the upcoming release of a free new-gen upgrade for the game on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
The influence of the TV series extends beyond Fallout 4, impacting other titles in the series as well. Fallout 3 – Game of the Year Edition, the original Fallout, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 76, and even Fallout Shelter are all enjoying increased popularity, featuring prominently in Steam’s trending charts.
Fallout 4 is available now on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and is included in Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus Extra and Premium, offering fans new and old ample opportunity to explore or revisit the richly detailed world of Fallout.
