Setting up child #Microsoft / #Xbox accounts for my 2 youngest kids.... was just about the most unfriendly user experience I've ever had.
The Live ecosystem that MS uses for accounts just redirects you constantly, forgets who's logged in. Keeps having to re-authenticate me but sometimes it asks for an email sometimes it emails a code. It's anybody's guess!
So I'm juggling access to my email, my 2 kids' emails. Some stuff needs an app because the website can't do it. I had 3 browsers open....
One reason I hate turning on my #Xbox Series X is that the combination of the console, TV (LG 4K OLED) and sound bar (Sonos Arc) causes VERY loud pops to play occasionally whenever the Xbox changes audio modes (e.g. enabling or disabling Dolby Atmos), and it scares the crap out of my dogs.
My #Playstation5 doesn’t do that, and it’s connected to the same setup.
This crappy experience, plus the frustratingly inconsistent Xbox UX, makes me buy every game on PS5 whenever possible, and only use Xbox for titles not available on PS5.

Two of my favourite games are on sale.
EDF 2017 and EDF 2025 on Xbox 360.
Both are backwards compatible and almost never go on sale.
So if you have any interest in them, now is the time to grab both.
It's crazy to me that through a series of coincidences #BaldursGate3 ended up being a #PS5 console exclusive* that launches the same day as #Starfield. Which also got lukewarm reviews.
All that work (and money!) to create a hype machine that would draw new Xbox users seems to have fallen slightly flat.
And another classic conference and the one that made me swear off the Xbox brand for nearly a whole generation, despite buying every system each gen previously:

I am trying out my new Elgato Game Capture Neo connected to my M1 MacBook Air and an XBOX Series X. I am getting no signal in the OBS software. QuickTime is the same. The TV is showing the video from the XBOX Series X fine. Any ideas?
