So I think my partner @owen is experiencing a @signalapp#MitM attack... I suspect on the part of the phone manufacturer, #Unihertz
How can I...I don't know, prove this? Fix it?
Here's what I did so far to troubleshoot:
@owen received a new phone, a Unihertz Atom L, and switched his Signal over to it. As I try to make a habit of, I called him over to verify our "security number". The check failed. The first sign of trouble.
I love my #Unihertz Jelly 2E. It’s a fun and surprisingly capable little phone. But I can’t use it as my daily driver for one main reason: lack of regular security updates. Still an all-too-common story for #Android phones from smaller and niche OEMs.
These days my Jelly 2E is without a SIM card. It only has the bare minimum apps installed and I use it as a music and podcast player. I have my entire digital music library on it.
