Pushead's review of Extreme Noise Terror's cassette in 1986:
"The sound ripped my teeth from their gums as my mouth gaped open wide in astonishment as to the full-front ferocity of extreme power smashing my face. This is the best new blast of damaging explosions to rock the brainwaves as an assault of growling vocals bark over a maniac lashing of speedy thrash pushed in with raw, loud distortion."
The exalted and most royal poultry tummy and their reptilian court mages go full-on #Tool meets "Roots" #Sepultura meets climate change post-apocalypse meets #Psych#Progressive#Garage#Thrash#Metal wonderland - and it's friggin' amazeballs! 😳 Everything's on point, everything fits, it's tight, it's urgent, it's burning with energy, it'll wreck your damn house and leave you asking for more ->
Thankfully today's shift is done and I'm back in the comfort of my little toucan nest. Also the cloud cover has loosened up a bit and there are a few rays of sunshine to be had. Plus it's just 2 more days until the weekend! Could be worse 😊...
...could be better. And here's how: some energetic, fast and crunchy #Crossover#Thrash#Metal to take care of all your chitinous cravings. It's good protein!🪰🪳🐜 ->
This album has fully and utterly blown me away, having me spiral into obsession... however it hasn't received quite as much attention and acclaim as it should have! Despite Mike Patton and Dave Lombardo being involved... (and it being a total banger throughout, not to mention its leftist attitude and insane musicianship!!)
The music videos and the album visualizer are truly amazing, too...
In summary, all good, deafening fun, but it did feel like there were #Accessibility issues, which is ironic given that #Possessed's lead singer is in a #Wheelchair.
I'm still very mobile, but I dread to think what it might be like for people on crutches, backbraces, pregnancies, & so on.
It doesn't help that gig venues seem bound by sacred law to have next to no seating. The entrance & toilets had too many doors to go through too. Again, I can manage. Plenty can't.
...The gig started at 17,00 and ended around 22.35. That's almost six hours, which is a punishing amount of time to be standing up, especially if you want to see all the acts, and you've got a recurring leg injury, like me.
Some described it as a mini-festival, which is all very well, but at least festivals have grass to sit on.
Even with #Possessed on stage, it ended up feeling like a slog. This dimmed the fun for me, slightly. Oh well.
