MSNBC:
This tweet perfectly sums up why TV writers are on strike
Studios are banking huge profits in the streaming era. Little of it has trickled down to the writers that make them possible.
As a perfect illustration of this disconnect, which has helped lead the Writers Guild of America to go on strike this week, check out this tweet from “Abbott Elementary” writer Brittani Nichols:
#Video#TV#Streaming#Hollywood#Screenwriters#AI#LLMs:"Outside of the Netflix headquarters in New York City on Wednesday, hundreds of members of the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) marched for a better contract on the second day of the writer's strike. They were there to communicate a clear message: Writers refuse to be replaced by AI.
Signs showcased slogans such as “Writers Generate All of it,” “Don’t Let ChatGPT Write ‘Yellowstone’,” “I Told ChatGPT To Make A Sign and It Sucked,” and “Don’t Uber Writing.” These signs referred to the unprecedented “AI” category in the guild’s proposal in which they asked to regulate the use of AI on union projects but were met with refusal from studios. Writers are seeking pay for episodes on streaming platforms, and to not have their work devalued and turned into gig labor due to the use of text-generating AI programs to write dialog."
More on The Avengers. Bet you couldn't wait! Two shots of a Mini Moke and one of a Stentofon, at least that's what I can see from the photo. Searching turns up newer models of these but none of this one. I thought it was one of those gismos that you see in this TV series but it looks real.
How did I know it was a Mini Moke? Well, that's what came into my mind when I saw it, don't know why, so I checked it on the Internet Movie Car Database. Works for TV shows, too.
Check out the official music video of “Voltes V: Legacy”, the most-awaited live-action adaptation of the classic hit anime series “Voltes V” (超電磁マシーン ボルテスV)!
It will premiere this coming May 8, 2023 at 20:00 ACT (UTC+8), Monday to Friday. Total number of episodes is 80, and the dialogues will be in mix Philippine English and Filipino; with the Boazanians speaking in, well, Boazanian.
I'm not sure if any fansub group/individual will pick it up, but it will be very surprising if no one did. I'm not saying they should do it… but as much as the industry doesn't want to admit it, getting chosen by a fansub is good marketing and a good sign your production was good enough for them to voluntarily make good fansubs. Good, good? ;P
We are seriously lacking new live-action TV series and movies related to isekai (parallel world).
I've watched every English title in every listicle I can find through search. :blobbonecry: I'm currently going through the remaining Korean titles I still have in my watchlist.
Parallel world, or isekai, doesn't have to be science fiction, it can be fantasy. I guess it's easier to write time travel stories? While I love time travel―especially if its time travel is complex—parallel world stories are more interesting.
More! :ablobbonebongo:
PS When it comes to books, we have plenty. But there are times when I just want watch.
I doubt that 'happy ending' had the same meaning back in the '60s;
Noddy makes an appearance.
Steed and Peel take a spin in an Amphicar. I knew there was a connection to my first car, a 1961 Triuimph Herald. They both had the same engine, the Standard SC. Twin SU carbs, in case you're a gearhead.

How do people with #populist views of #science inform themselves and communicate about it? 🔬
In our new study, @mss7676@j_metag and I find: Science-related populists prefer #TV and social networking sites, and are more likely to comment scientific content online. But they don’t avoid journalistic media in general, so they don’t ‘disconnect’ from science 🪢🔬

I guess this is just more motivation to finally start watching the original series. (Been planning to do so for years, but haven't gotten around to it)
I am ridiculously happy to hear that a new Babylon 5 project is in the works - and not just in the works, but finished and will actually reach the air.
B5 was one of the most groundbreaking shows that few have heard of. B5 did serialized storytelling years before Lost. It did CGI years before anyone else. It was a show well ahead of its time.
It is sad most of the cast is no longer with us, but a new story is wonderful news.
