How hard is it to make an RSS feed for a website? I've looked at a few tutorials but they're over my head. I only know basic HTML and CSS right now.
You have to know XML, yes?
Edited to add: I know most site-builders do this for you, but I want to make a site manually with my adorably limited knowledge of HTML and CSS. It'll be just like 2001 again.
I recently went through all of my follows (mostly infosec folks) to find their blogs/sites so I could add them to this list ( https://shellsharks.com/infosec-blogs ) I maintain as well as subscribe to their respective RSS feeds. The amount of awesome blogs I found that did NOT have an RSS feed was very concerning. If you write, and you want people to see your work, please have an RSS feed!!

I think I was able to add #rss to my static website (based on the #orgmode files). I have used ox-rss package and hooked my own #elisp functions to format entries the way I wanted.
For now entries consist of post’s title and publish date. Description is just a placeholder since I didn’t yet figure out how to include only x first sentences from the post.
What are your most favourite tech blogs that are also available via #RSS? Currently going through my subscribed feeds, looking for fresh content to add. 👀
I wrote a quick #blogpost about how great word filters are on my #RSS feed, thanks to #FreshRSS! And they're pretty good here on #Mastodon too, when you want to avoid certain topics and themes, like the absurd amount of Prime Day deals on every tech website ever... :blobfoxangrylaugh:
