I saw someone saying if the UK had PR 20% of our MPs would be from far right parties. That’s probably correct, but I’d prefer that to the current situation where it’s over 50%
The Tories slipped this through Parliament late last night, hoping it would not hit the weekends news. Peerages for cash donated to the Tory Party --- the sleaze goes on. #torysleaze
@steverocky what the hell were #PlaidCymru thinking of nominating anyone to the Lords? To nominate is to legitimate. Decent parties don't do that kind of thing.

The #PlaidCymru motion was supported in the #Senedd on Wednesday night after ministers in the Labour-led #Welsh government abstained and offered its backbenchers a free vote.
The motion, which condemned the attacks by Hamas on Israeli civilians, as well as the Israeli government’s “indiscriminate attacks on Gaza,” was carried by 24 votes to 19 with 13 Senedd members abstaining.
I doubt it would actually happen, but if the swing in the Mid Bedfordshire By-Election was repeated across the UK Labour would have a 310 seat majority, the Lib Dems would be the main opposition, and the Tories would be left with twenty seats
Analysis finds the rise of “muscular unionism” is out of step with public opinion and there is a “striking ambivalence” to retaining the union in its current form
