Hello 🌏 ! This is #phosh's mastodon account. It'll have phosh's release announcements and posts/boosts of related projects. Looking forward to an interesting and bright Linux mobile future 📱 .
While this also adds a bunch of new features like language and subtitle selection it mostly moved things closer to the designs. We have a wide mode for docked/desktop mode now and autohiding of panels, etc.
If you are not happy with your on-screen-keyboard (#squeekboard) on Mobian, you might want to try out #phosh-osk-stub which is @agx's toy keyboard. I like the layout a lot, apparently it even features local text prediction (have not tried that yet).
Remember, it is a toy, so hold back on your support requests.
Livi (a little video player for #LinuxMobile) (but it also has a wide mode for convergent use now) will soon remember stream positions so it's easy to continue watching. Here's how it looks in #phosh :
I repurposed my old Mi A1 smartphone as a Linux-based audio player!
I 3D-printed the brackets to attach the Fiio Q1 mark II DAC+AMP and enabled the USB sound card drivers in the kernel (https://gitlab.com/postmarketOS/pmaports/-/issues/2531).
Thanks to #Amberol and #postmarketOS for making this possible! 😊
Among other QoL improvements this fixes the suspend inhibitor when using your phone as a WiFi hotspot and gives more screen estate due to a narrow home bar (by mathew-dennis),
Video confrencing time!
With the latest achievements from the community, Droidian will soon get support for camera over V4L2!
This means that now all apps can access and utilize the camera without any latency.
Thanks to @GranPC For taking this task off our hands and finishing it.
sudo apt install phosh-full
Sollte Mobian recht nahe kommen.
set page background color to match fenix_colors.css, fenix_one.css, and fenix_one-alt.css
Modified fenix_colors.css, fenix_one.css, and fenix_one-alt.css:
optimized colors to better support styles that do not hide the tab bar: desktop and mobile styles, as well as all styles while using larger screen (lapdock, monitor, or tv) including laptop and desktop computers
Modified install.sh:
optimized logic: only attempt to create backup on first run of install.sh script
added new user selection option for applying recommended preferences to user.js
fixed typo preventing dynamic_popups_max.css from being applied
Modified uninstall.sh:
optimized logic: only continue with uninstall if at least one chrome directory has been located in selected browser profiles
added logic to remove added preferences from user.js if present
Modified README.md:
added note to pre-install section about applying recommended preferences with install.sh script
5G data support, Latest Mobile Camera Tech in Linux, Modernizing Modem, Even faaaaaster App launches, Modern devices (ThinkPhone and Pixel 6) and as always Improved UI!
@jan_wagemakers Nice. I'm Also using mutt here on Mobile. To avoid having to store any credentials I'm using pkinit and the Librem5's smartcard reader. I then just need to enter the smartcard pin every once in a while which is simple with krb5-auth-dialog under #phosh (but works also on other mobile environments): https://honk.sigxcpu.org/con/Kerberos_authentication_on_the_Librem_5.html
#droidian on the #op6 gives me the long awaited feeling of a fully usable #linuxphone to travel.
e.g. having a working camera & gps and even a #waydroid helper to run android apps like wa or organicmaps which are currently not available on #linuxmobile
with a native working browser, xmpp and matrix clients its daily driveable (signal is still a showstopper)...
Just updated to #postmarketOS 23.12 using the postmarketos-release-upgrade script and it went perfectly! I even lost internet connection for a moment during the upgrade and the script ran apk fix at the end and continued updating as normal!
There are tons of amazing under-the-hood upgrades to my Oneplus 6T, but thank you to all who worked on #Phosh for the flashlight button in quick settings! Oddly enough my highlight package feature of the update.
