A few hours ago I managed to get a statically-linked build of PHP for Windows working on a machine with no prior #PHP installation

This build is a single-file distributable executable that can run a #Laravel application

This is a major milestone for #NativePHP as it will now be able to support all the major desktop platforms 🎉

It's been a while since I've last programmed something in my free time and that's pretty annoying.

I do cool things at work currently but I need to focus more on my hobby. Especially because I think about some new Features for #Questlog all the time.

But also other projects are constantly in my mind I would like to try. I'm especially curious about #NativePHP.

The #NativePHP announcement at #LaraconUS reminded me that I contributed code to Titanium back in 2010 to embed #PHP into their application for building desktop apps.

Since PHP was embedded rather than distributed as a static binary, Titanium itself could parse and run PHP code. Ok so after 5 years of explaining why React Native is "native" we now have to explain NativePHP is not native in the way React Native is native? Confusing times ahead. 😅 #laravel #nativephp
